Hyatt Hotels Corp. has joined with Asilia Africa to give World of Hyatt members access to 15 high-end safari camps across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The stays, bookable through Hyatt’s platforms and Mr & Mrs Smith, offer members the chance to earn and redeem points while visiting some of the region’s most celebrated wildlife areas.

Interest in responsible and experience-driven travel continues to rise, and Hyatt’s partnership with Asilia brings a new layer to its offerings in Africa.

The camps included in the program sit in major conservation landscapes such as Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ruaha national parks and protected areas in Uganda.

The collaboration aims to give travelers meaningful stays shaped by community involvement and environmental care rather than just traditional luxury. 

Safari camps with community impact 

Asilia’s portfolio is known for pairing comfort with conservation work. Dunia Camp in the Serengeti, run entirely by women from nearby communities, provides guests with close access to wildlife while supporting local employment.

At Jabali Ridge in Ruaha, visitors stay among granite outcrops overlooking one of Tanzania’s largest wildlife regions. 

All 15 participating camps contribute to conservation and community development. Asilia’s B Corp certification underscores its commitment to responsible operations, including investments in habitat restoration and education programs.

For Hyatt members, the partnership means their travel spend can support efforts to safeguard wildlife and natural habitats.

Funding conservation efforts 

Asilia has directed more than $11 million toward environmental protection and community-led projects. The company supports groups such as Honeyguide in southern Tanzania, which works with Wildlife Management Areas, and the Naboisho Conservancy in Kenya, widely regarded as a successful model for land recovery and shared revenue.

These programs help ensure that tourism income flows back to the families and communities who live alongside wildlife. 

Hyatt says the partnership will strengthen these initiatives by driving more travelers to the camps, generating steady funding for conservation work and local jobs. 

Uganda joins the portfolio 

Uganda’s inclusion marks a notable expansion. Known for its mountain gorillas, diverse wildlife and dramatic landscapes, the country has been attracting more international visitors.

Its addition gives travelers a broader range of choices and positions Uganda more firmly on the map for upscale safari experiences. 

Hyatt and Asilia say the collaboration reflects a long-term commitment to responsible tourism. By blending premium service with community partnerships, the companies aim to show that luxury travel in East Africa can support both environmental protection and local livelihoods.
