This win propelled her into the ranks of African music giants such as Burna Boy and Wizkid, whose collective efforts continue to bring African sounds to the global stage.

Riding on the success of her debut album, which was lauded for its genre-blending production and infectious hooks, Tyla continued to build on her momentum with the release of a deluxe edition of “Tyla” titled “Tyla+” on October 11, 2024.

The deluxe edition features new tracks, including “Push 2 Start”, a reggae-infused amapiano pop song that debuted in November 2024.

The single quickly gained traction, racking up 15.4 million views on YouTube and 40.9 million plays on Spotify.

With her characteristic vocal prowess and innovative sound, “Push 2 Start” is already being hailed as another hit for the star.

Streaming growth and RIAA success

Tyla’s YouTube channel, which boasts 4.37 million subscribers, has accumulated a staggering 1.48 billion views.

With her ever-growing presence, she is on track to surpass 1.5 billion total views by the end of 2024, solidifying her position as one of the most influential and globally recognized artists in the digital age.

The international recognition doesn’t end there. In November 2024, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded her debut album a gold certification for selling over 500,000 units in the U.S., further cementing her status as a global superstar.

Meanwhile, her hit single “Water” now holds a two-time platinum certification from the RIAA with over 2 million units sold, further proof of her chart-topping success in North America.

International success gains momentum

Tyla’s growing influence is also visible in her sold-out performances across the world, with recent shows in Japan, South Korea, France, Brazil, the USA, Indonesia, and South Africa capturing the attention of international audiences.
