Minor Hotels, a global leader in the hospitality industry across hotels, resorts and branded residences in 59 countries, has partnered with SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises to develop up to 50 hotels across Egypt over the next decade.
The collaboration combines Minor’s global hospitality experience with SUNRISE’s local market knowledge, aiming to strengthen the country’s luxury accommodation offerings and attract more international visitors.
The hotels will range from coastal resorts along the Red Sea to urban properties in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. Both companies plan to provide tailored experiences for leisure and business travelers alike, expanding Egypt’s capacity to host a growing number of tourists.

Boosting Egypt’s tourism industry
Egypt’s mix of ancient monuments, historical sites, and natural landscapes has long drawn millions of travelers each year. The Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley of the Kings remain top attractions, while new resort-style offerings are increasingly appealing to luxury tourists.
The planned hotels will add capacity in high-demand areas, particularly along the Red Sea, home to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. The developments will cater not only to travelers seeking historical experiences but also to those looking for modern, high-end leisure stays.

Expansion across key destinations
The joint venture will target both coastal and cultural hubs. Red Sea resorts will provide beaches, diving, and marine experiences, while urban and heritage cities like Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan will attract business travelers and tourists interested in Egypt’s history. The new properties aim to meet diverse visitor needs, from cultural exploration to luxury relaxation.
The hotels will feature premium amenities such as fine dining, spas, and exclusive resort experiences. Sustainability is a priority, with plans to incorporate energy-efficient systems and environmentally conscious operations, aligning with global trends and Egypt’s push toward responsible tourism.

Supporting jobs and technology integration
The expansion is expected to create thousands of jobs in construction and hospitality, supporting local economies. Properties will also use technology to enhance guest experiences, including smart room features, streamlined check-ins, and personalized services. Digital tools will improve hotel management and efficiency, catering to tech-savvy travelers.
With this partnership, Minor Hotels and SUNRISE are set to transform Egypt’s tourism landscape. By combining luxury, sustainability, and modern technology, the new hotels will broaden the country’s appeal and strengthen its position as a premier destination for both leisure and business travelers.
