Mauritius-based private equity firm Inside Capital Partners has successfully closed its second fund, Inside Equity Fund II, at $72.2 million, more than doubling the size of its debut fund.

The milestone strengthens the firm’s capacity to back small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Southeast Africa, a region where access to growth capital remains limited.

Fund II boosts SME growth across Southeast Africa
The successful close brings Inside Capital Partners’ total assets under management to $107 million, underscoring its growing influence in regional private equity.

British International Investment (BII) joined as a new limited partner, signaling strong confidence in the firm’s long-term strategy and regional focus.

“Fund II marks a major milestone for Inside Capital Partners. Support from global investors like BII reinforces our commitment to investing in SMEs that drive economic growth across Southeast Africa,” the firm said in a statement.

Target sectors and investment approach
Inside Equity Fund II targets high-potential SMEs in technology, manufacturing, and consumer services. Beyond capital, the fund offers operational support to close the region’s persistent financing gaps while generating competitive returns.

Southeast Africa’s SME sector, long constrained by limited financing, is becoming increasingly attractive to private equity investors.

With Fund II now fully closed, Inside Capital Partners is positioned to accelerate investments in companies shaping the region’s economic landscape, fostering innovation, employment, and sustainable growth.
