Red Sea Holidays has rolled out a three-night Cairo add-on aimed at travellers who want to pair Egypt’s beach resorts with its most famous cultural sites. The extension, priced from £499 ($683) per person, is available to guests staying in Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh.
The offer gives holidaymakers the option to move beyond a resort-only break, combining time on the Red Sea with a short city stay in the capital.
A base near the pyramids
The package includes three nights at the five-star Swiss Inn Pyramid & Golf Resort, located about 15 minutes from the Pyramids of Giza. Accommodation is on a bed-and-breakfast basis, with flights and transfers between Cairo and the Red Sea resorts included.
By bundling transport and accommodation, the operator aims to make the transition between destinations straightforward, avoiding the complexity often associated with multi-centre trips.

Demand for culture beyond the beach
While Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh remain popular for diving, snorkeling and beach holidays, travel companies are seeing growing interest in cultural experiences. Many visitors want more than a brief excursion, opting instead for longer stays that allow time to explore history, food and everyday life.
The Cairo add-on is designed to meet that demand, offering several days in the city rather than a tightly scheduled day trip.

Landmarks and everyday Cairo
The itinerary allows time to explore the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx with guided tours that explain their history and significance. Guests can also visit the Egyptian Museum, home to artefacts spanning thousands of years, including the collection of Tutankhamun.
Beyond the main sites, travellers are encouraged to experience Cairo’s street life. Visits to Khan el-Khalili bazaar, neighbourhood cafés and local restaurants offer a glimpse into daily life, while optional excursions include Saqqara’s Step Pyramid and the ruins of ancient Memphis.

A slower pace, wider appeal
Unlike short stopovers, the three-night stay allows for a more relaxed schedule, balancing major landmarks with time to explore less familiar corners of the city. The extension can also complement other cultural visits, such as trips to Luxor, for travellers seeking a broader view of Egypt.
Bookings can be made directly with Red Sea Holidays or through independent travel agents, with a minimum lead time of 14 days.
The Cairo add-on is likely to appeal to first-time visitors looking to see Egypt’s headline attractions, as well as repeat travellers seeking a deeper experience. By linking resort stays with a structured city break, Red Sea Holidays is tapping into a wider shift toward holidays that balance rest with cultural discovery.
