Hilton is extending its presence in Africa with three new DoubleTree by Hilton properties planned for Morocco, Togo and the Republic of Congo, reinforcing the company’s focus on full-service hotels in key regional markets.
The latest agreements include Hilton’s first hotel in Togo and add to a development pipeline that now exceeds 100 properties across the continent. The DoubleTree brand, positioned in the upscale segment, continues to play a central role in Hilton’s Africa strategy.
Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s chief development officer for the Middle East and Africa, said the expansion reflects steady demand across business and leisure destinations.
He pointed to Africa’s commercial centers, cultural appeal and natural attractions as long-term drivers for hotel investment. Hilton, he said, aims to deepen partnerships on the ground while delivering consistent standards for travelers.
Lomé airport marks Hilton’s Togo debut
DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport will be the company’s first hotel in Togo and the country’s first internationally branded airport property. Developed with SODEXH SA, the hotel will sit opposite Lomé International Airport, targeting business travelers and transit guests.
The hotel will feature 165 rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant, lobby café, outdoor pool, spa and fitness center. Meeting facilities will include a ballroom and three conference rooms, offering easy access to Lomé’s commercial districts.

Congo project centers on meetings and events
In the Republic of Congo, DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele will rise in Brazzaville’s Kintele district. The 200-room hotel will include multiple dining venues, leisure facilities and views over the Congo River.
A key feature is a 75,000-square-meter conference complex, billed as the largest in West Africa, with space for large conventions, banquets and corporate events. Developed with SEDIC, the hotel is scheduled to open in 2026, joining Hilton Brazzaville Les Tours Jumelles.

Marrakech resort strengthens Morocco pipeline
In Morocco, DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie will add 228 rooms in the city’s well-known resort district. Planned amenities include landscaped gardens, several restaurants, pools, spa facilities and meeting spaces. The hotel is expected to open in 2028.
The signing adds to Hilton’s growing Morocco portfolio, which includes 16 hotels under development, among them Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé.

The three properties will become part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s global portfolio of more than 700 hotels in 61 countries, known for contemporary hospitality and the brand’s signature chocolate chip cookie welcome.
Hilton, which operates 9,000 properties across 141 countries, has introduced technology enhancements such as Digital Key Share and automated room upgrades. Its loyalty program, Hilton Honors, has more than 235 million members worldwide.
