Spinneys Egypt, one of the country’s  leading  retail companies, has launched its 35th store at The Gray Mall in First Settlement, New Cairo, in a  E($1.6 million) investment.

The new 1,400-square-meter outlet, located next to Ahl Masr Hospital, delivers a modern supermarket experience, featuring a curated mix of imported and local products, alongside specialized sections for bakery, meat, deli, and fresh produce.

Nationwide expansion plan underway

This opening is Spinneys’ first store launch of 2026, part of a broader strategy to open eight more outlets by year-end, expanding its network to 43 branches across Egypt.

The growth reflects the retailer’s focus on meeting evolving consumer demands for quality, variety, and convenience in both physical and digital shopping channels.

Catering to shifting consumer trends

As Egyptian shoppers increasingly seek trusted brands and seamless retail experiences, Spinneys continues to invest in operational infrastructure and digital services.

The company’s expansion strategy is closely aligned with changing market dynamics, offering customers enhanced accessibility while reinforcing its position as the country’s second-largest international retailer.

Commitment to local economy and jobs

“This new store reflects our long-term commitment to Egypt and our belief in the resilience of the local retail market,” said Mohanad Adly, CEO of Spinneys Egypt. “We aim to provide a shopping experience that combines quality, variety, and convenience while creating employment opportunities and supporting the economy.”

Spinneys’ approach integrates both online and offline channels, leveraging a robust logistics network to ensure efficiency and accessibility.

The First Settlement store not only enhances convenience for local residents but also underscores Spinneys’ role as a strategic partner in Egypt’s economic development.

Modern retail heritage in Egypt

Spinneys’ modern operations in Egypt began in 2005 with its first Cairo store, building on a brand history that dates back to 1924.

Landmark expansions, including the City Stars outlet in 2006, have paved the way for rapid growth. As of late 2024, the retailer operates over 30 stores nationwide, reinforcing its reputation for high-quality fresh foods, groceries, and household products.

With this latest launch, Spinneys Egypt continues to shape the country’s premium retail landscape, combining international standards with localized offerings to meet the demands of modern Egyptian consumers.
