After a successful second edition on Kenya’s coast, Essence of Africa has announced that its third edition will take place at Diamonds Bijoux in Zanzibar from Oct. 20–22, 2026.

The event continues its mission to showcase Africa’s top tourism destinations while connecting international buyers with African suppliers.

The decision to host the forum in Zanzibar reflects growing global interest in the island.

International tourist arrivals rose 10% in December 2025, highlighting Zanzibar’s appeal as a tropical destination just a short flight from popular safari circuits and adventure hubs.

The island allows buyers to explore how Africa’s diverse experiences—beaches, culture, and wildlife—can be combined into seamless multi-stop itineraries.

“After working closely with the Diamonds team in Malindi to deliver an exceptional 2025 experience, we’re excited to see this collaboration grow into a true strategic alliance,” said Amanda Margison, co-founder of Essence of Africa.

“Their investment in people and products provides real value for both buyers and African exhibitors and sets the stage for another distinctive destination.”

Zanzibar’s appeal for international buyers

“Essence of Africa is designed to move across the continent,” said Chris Mears, co-founder.

“Bringing the forum to Zanzibar reflects the rising importance of Africa’s island and coastal destinations.

Zanzibar’s natural beauty, culture, and unique sense of place give buyers a firsthand understanding of how these destinations enrich African travel itineraries.”

The 2026 edition builds on last year’s success in Malindi, where 158 international buyers from 39 countries met with 150 African exhibitors in more than 5,600 pre-scheduled meetings.

Curated by On Show Solutions and ATTA Group Events, the forum continues to focus on meaningful commercial connections, enriched by immersive destination experiences and in-depth content sessions.
