Sustainable logistics in Egypt

Edita Food Industries, led by Egyptian business magnate Hani Berzi, has unveiled a landmark partnership with Shift EV, a leading Egyptian e-mobility specialist, to roll out electric trucks across its nationwide distribution network.

This strategic alliance between Edita’s distribution arm, Edita Trade and Distribution, and Shift EV aims to electrify a portion of Edita’s nationwide truck fleet, marking a significant step toward sustainable logistics and operational efficiency in Egypt’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Under the collaboration, Shift EV will deploy innovative electric vehicle solutions, enabling Edita to reduce diesel consumption, lower maintenance costs, and limit exposure to fuel price volatility. This aligns with Edita’s commitment to modernization and its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

Cost efficiency and margin protection
Chairman Hani Berzi emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing fleet efficiency and operational predictability, expressing confidence that the electrification initiative will strengthen Edita’s competitive edge across the market.

The significance of this partnership was underscored by the Shift EV CEO, who highlighted the company’s dedication to supporting Egypt’s clean mobility ecosystem and fostering local engineering expertise, including battery servicing and electric drivetrain maintenance.

The collaboration represents a pivotal step forward for Shift EV in Egypt’s logistics and FMCG market, leveraging cutting-edge technology to modernize fleet operations while stimulating high-skilled employment opportunities.
