Tetracore Energy Group, an integrated energy solutions company led by Nigerian entrepreneur Olakunle Williams, has opened a 60,000 standard cubic meters-per-day auto compressed natural gas facility in Ogun State, adding new supply along the busy Lagos–Ibadan industrial corridor.

The plant, developed through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solutions Ltd., is designed to serve transporters, logistics firms, manufacturers and other businesses in Ogun and nearby states. Details of the project were disclosed in a statement shared.

With installed capacity to fuel more than 100 vehicles a day, the facility is expected to ease shortages for buses, trucks and other commercial fleets that run on CNG.

Operators say wider access to gas can lower operating costs and support Nigeria’s push to cut emissions from road transport.

Speaking at the commissioning, Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group subsidiaries said the project goes beyond fuel supply.

He described it as a practical step toward stronger energy security and more affordable transport for businesses.

“This is not just a fueling station,” Williams said. “It is infrastructure that supports cleaner mobility, keeps factories moving and helps communities share in economic growth.”

He added that the plant would create jobs and business opportunities in Ogere, the host community.

Clean energy boosts local economy

The Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Saliu, welcomed the project, calling it a positive change for residents. “This development brings employment and recognition to our people,” he said. “We are pleased that Ogere is hosting this important clean energy facility.”

The Ogere plant fits into Tetracore’s broader plan to expand gas distribution nationwide, spanning compressed natural gas, piped natural gas, liquefied natural gas and gas-to-power projects.

Company officials said the opening signals continued investment in infrastructure that can support industry and transport at scale.

Williams leads expansion across West Africa

Founded in 2022, Tetracore now controls an estimated 25–30 percent of Nigeria’s gas supply market and is among the country’s largest providers of Mobile Auto-Gas Refueling Units.

The company is also expanding into upstream projects in Bayelsa, Calabar, and parts of Ghana, aiming to support industrial growth and cleaner energy adoption across Africa.

Olakunle Williams, the founder and CEO, is a Nigerian entrepreneur and lawyer who has built Tetracore into a leading energy solutions provider.

Under his leadership, the company has partnered with major industrial players, including Dangote Cement, to advance gas development and infrastructure.

Dayo Williams, appointed Managing Director of Tetracore subsidiaries in October 2025, oversees the company’s strategic direction, growth, and operations across Tetracore Energy Limited, Tetracore Gas Limited, and Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited.
