MG Developments, a leading Egyptian real estate developer, has unveiled VALO Hospitality, a dedicated arm for hotel management, marking a major step in its expansion strategy.

The move aims to combine real estate development with professional hospitality operations, enhancing long-term value for the company’s assets.

Investing in Egypt’s hospitality sector

Chairman Mohamed Motawee said the launch is part of a five-year plan that will see MG Developments invest roughly EGP 2 billion ($40.6 million) in hotels. “This is a shift in our approach. Hospitality will now be a core part of our business, not just an add-on,” he said.

Through VALO Hospitality, the company plans to develop and manage six hotels with more than 600 rooms and suites. The strategy focuses on standardizing leasing and operations to ensure consistent quality and guest experience across its properties.

In Ain Sokhna, the group is targeting leisure and family tourism, business travelers, medium-term stays, and the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segment.

Modern meeting and conference halls in New Cairo and Ain Sokhna are also part of the plan to maintain occupancy throughout the year.

Ongoing projects and future growth

MG Developments currently operates La Cabana Beachfront Hotel at Blue Blue Resort, which is in its soft-opening phase. A second hotel at the resort is under interior finishing, scheduled to open by the end of 2027.

A five-star property is also under construction with completion expected in 2028. The resort will feature 120 beachfront wooden cabins, a dog-friendly beach, and a seaside restaurant complex.

At the Solara Project, two more hotels with a total of 260 rooms are being built, with openings planned for 2029. Talks are ongoing with an international hotel brand to manage one of the properties.

Motawee added that VALO Hospitality will also manage third-party hotel assets, positioning the group as an independent hospitality platform.

By 2030, the company plans to expand across the North Coast, East and West Cairo, and Ain Sokhna, strengthening its combined real estate and hotel model.
