TUI Group is pressing ahead with a new phase of growth for its Hotels & Resorts division, moving several projects from planning into execution as it expands across Asia and Africa.

The company has signed new hotel agreements in major markets and opened bookings for a new Robinson Club in Cape Verde, steps that deepen its presence in destinations with strong international travel demand and year-round appeal.

“TUI Hotels & Resorts is developing rapidly worldwide,” said Artur Gerber, co-CEO of TUI Hotels & Resorts.

“With brands such as Robinson, TUI Blue and RIU, we are expanding our portfolio step by step,” he said. “More than 460 hotels now operate under our brands worldwide, with more than 70 additional properties in development.”

Gerber said the expansion is aimed at strengthening TUI’s presence in new markets while broadening its offerings for travelers with different holiday preferences.

Asia expansion gathers pace

Asia remains a central part of TUI’s strategy as travel demand in the region continues to recover and grow.

The company currently operates 25 hotels across China and Southeast Asia and has more than 30 additional projects in development. Executives say rising interest from international travelers in TUI’s hotel brands is driving the company’s push across the region.

One of the latest projects is the signing of a management agreement for the TUI Blue Yangtze Shanghai, a five-star property scheduled to open on June 1, 2026.

The 103-room hotel will be housed in a historic building near People’s Square in central Shanghai. The agreement with Shanghai Donghu (Group) Co., Ltd. was announced during ITB Berlin.

The hotel will combine contemporary design with dining concepts and services aimed at both international and Chinese guests.

TUI is also preparing to open its first TUI Blue hotel in Japan. The planned mountain resort in Hokkaido is designed as a year-round destination, offering winter sports and outdoor activities alongside modern resort amenities.

Additional projects are under development in Vietnam and other emerging travel destinations across the region.

Africa portfolio continues to grow

TUI is also expanding steadily across Africa, where the company already operates several resorts in North African markets.

The group plans to open a new resort under its TUI Magic Life brand in Agadir. New projects are also underway in West and East Africa, including the first TUI Blue hotel in The Gambia and additional developments in Zanzibar.

Another milestone is the opening of bookings for Robinson Boa Vista, a newly built club resort in Cape Verde scheduled to welcome guests on March 6, 2027.

The property will feature 322 rooms, including 20 junior suites and 10 deluxe suites overlooking the sea and surrounding dunes. The resort’s “For All” concept is aimed at couples, families and groups of friends seeking active holidays.

Guests will have access to sports facilities including tennis, beach volleyball, padel and pickleball, along with a large spa and wellness center. Dining options will include local Cape Verdean dishes as well as international cuisine.
