With participation from 145 countries, the event reflected the continent’s growing role in the global tech conversation. 

Governments are pairing these efforts with incentives, such as grants, sovereign-data policies, and climate-resilience mandates, creating opportunities for collaboration between local and international innovators.

African cities are increasingly shaping solutions rather than merely adopting them. Challenges such as traffic congestion, urban waste, and financial inclusion are being tackled with locally tailored technology. Public and private funding, along with venture capital, is helping startups scale quickly, turning cities into hubs for transformative innovation.

5. Kigali, Rwanda

6. Accra, Ghana 

Accra is a key West African tech center, with schools like MEST and emerging smart city initiatives blending digital services with urban planning.
