TPF Hospitality, a leading luxury-property management company, has added Kagga Kamma Eco Lodge & Spa, a multi-award-winning four-star eco-lodge, to its portfolio, strengthening its presence in South Africa’s high-end travel market.

Set deep in the Cederberg mountains, the lodge offers a quiet retreat among sandstone formations and open plains. The property is known for its access to ancient rock art, diverse plant life and a sense of seclusion that appeals to travelers seeking a more intimate experience.

Company executives said the addition broadens options for travel partners packaging South Africa itineraries, particularly for clients looking for a distinctive wilderness stay. The lodge combines a strong sense of place with a level of comfort expected by international visitors.

Kagga Kamma’s accommodation reflects its surroundings. Cave suites are built into the rock face, while open-air units allow guests to sleep under the night sky. Traditional hut-style rooms, inspired by Khoi dwellings, offer family-friendly options with private terraces.

Kagga Kamma: Simple, restorative wellness-focused care

Guests can explore the reserve through guided drives, hiking trails and quad biking, with seasonal wildflower displays adding to the landscape during certain times of the year. The reserve operates in a low-density setting, helping preserve its quiet atmosphere.

The on-site spa offers a range of treatments designed to complement the natural environment. Sessions are often held outdoors, weather permitting, where the stillness of the surroundings adds to the experience. The focus is on simple, restorative care rather than elaborate rituals.

Evenings are a key part of the stay. With little artificial light in the area, the lodge is considered one of the Western Cape’s better locations for stargazing. Clear skies offer views of constellations and the Milky Way, drawing guests outdoors after sunset.

TPF expands experiential travel portfolio

The partnership builds on TPF Hospitality’s long-standing relationships in the sector. Led by Johannes Lategan and Roelof Troskie, the company has focused on managing and marketing independent properties while supporting owners with day-to-day operations.

TPF Hospitality currently oversees about 340 rooms across apartments, hotels and lodges, generating roughly R220 million ($12.8 million) in annual turnover. Its approach centers on maintaining each property’s identity while improving performance and guest satisfaction.

The addition of Kagga Kamma reflects a continued push toward experiential travel, where location, design and access to nature play a central role in attracting guests.
