Egypt is steadily becoming a central player in regional energy markets, drawing global attention as the country expands its energy infrastructure and capacity.

With rising domestic demand and a strategic location connecting North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East, the country is increasingly critical for liquefied natural gas (LNG), oil, and renewable energy projects.

Energy companies are taking notice. Ahead of EGYPES 2026, Shell Egypt highlighted the country’s role in linking supply, infrastructure, and demand.

Dalia Elgabry, Vice President and Country Chair, said the Egyptian market offers opportunities for innovation, investment, and collaboration across upstream, downstream, and integrated gas operations.

“Egypt sits at the intersection of regional energy dynamics and global demand growth,” Elgabry said, signaling Shell’s ongoing commitment to the market.

The Cairo-based event, hosted under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, will feature Shell’s full energy portfolio.

From LNG production and upstream exploration to downstream operations and social investment programs, the company will present a unified presence designed to show how integrated energy systems function in complex markets.

Strategic focus on LNG and sustainable

Energy Shell executives are set to participate in key discussions on global LNG markets, energy transition, and emissions reduction.

Cederic Cremers, President for Integrated Gas, will detail LNG supply and demand trends in a shifting geopolitical landscape, while Joris Grimbergen, Vice President for Development and Subsurface LNG and CCS, will highlight how companies are cutting emissions through technology and operational improvements.

Sessions will also examine energy system evolution, infrastructure adaptation, and investment decision-making in a volatile market environment.

Beyond the panels, Shell Egypt will host the Youth Impact Ceremony, spotlighting programs that support local talent and innovation.

NXplorers will announce student-led solutions addressing energy and sustainability challenges, Intilaaqah Egypt will highlight startup innovators, and Shell Eco-marathon teams will demonstrate the engineering capabilities of Egyptian university students.

These initiatives reflect Shell’s approach of pairing energy delivery with workforce development and practical innovation.

Shell’s presence at EGYPES 2026 will also showcase its integrated operations in exploration, production, LNG, downstream, and technology-driven solutions.

With decades of experience and longstanding local partnerships, the company is reinforcing Egypt’s role as a regional energy hub, connecting global expertise with practical, local execution.
