A private investor, through Season Global Limited, is committing Ksh1.09 billion ($8.4 million) to develop a 185-suite hotel in Nairobi’s upscale Gigiri district, targeting rising demand from diplomats, multinational firms and international organizations. The project underscores growing investor confidence in Nairobi’s hospitality sector, particularly in areas anchored by global institutions.

Gigiri, an affluent, secure diplomatic neighborhood in Nairobi, Kenya, known as the home of the United Nations headquarters in Africa and the U.S. Embassy

Targeting diplomatic and corporate demand
Reports confirmed that the project will comprise a 10-storey development featuring 185 hotel suites, alongside supporting amenities designed to cater to business travelers and long-stay guests. The location, widely regarded as one of Nairobi’s most strategic commercial and diplomatic hubs, hosts key institutions including the United Nations offices and several embassies.

The planned development positions the investor to capitalize on sustained occupancy demand driven by conferences, diplomatic activity and expatriate traffic, which have continued to underpin hospitality growth in the area.

Expanding Nairobi’s hospitality footprint
Gigiri has increasingly attracted high-end real estate and hospitality investments, benefiting from its proximity to global institutions and secure infrastructure. The addition of new hotel capacity in the area reflects confidence in Nairobi’s role as a regional business and diplomatic hub.

The 185-suite project is expected to enhance accommodation supply in the premium segment, where demand remains resilient despite broader macroeconomic pressures.

Strategic outlook
Season Global Limited’s investment underscores a broader trend of private capital flowing into Nairobi’s hospitality sector, particularly in locations anchored by international organizations and corporate tenants.

As competition intensifies among hotel operators, developments such as the Gigiri project are likely to emphasize differentiated services, extended-stay offerings and proximity to key institutions to secure market share.
