SHEARZONE Safaris is widening its footprint in Zambia’s tourism sector with the planned opening of Nzovu Rundu Luxury Camp in the Lower Zambezi, set for July.

The move adds to growing competition among safari operators targeting high-end travelers across Southern Africa.

The new camp marks the company’s entry into the Lower Zambezi, a riverfront region known for its dense wildlife and scenic landscapes.

The area has become a key draw for international visitors, competing with established safari destinations in Botswana and South Africa.

Company officials say the expansion reflects steady demand for more private, experience-led safari stays.

The focus, they add, is on combining comfort with access to remote wilderness areas.

Alongside the new opening, Shearzone Safaris is upgrading Mozhi Bush Camp with practical in-room improvements, including air conditioning, electric geysers and hair dryers, as part of broader efforts to lift guest comfort across its properties.

Expansion into lower Zambezi

Nzovu Rundu Luxury Camp will feature tented suites, family units and private plunge pools, positioning it in the upper tier of Zambia’s safari accommodation market.

The property extends Shearzone’s reach beyond Kafue National Park, where it has built its core operations.

The company’s portfolio now spans multiple travel styles.

Bongololo Campsite offers a basic, nature-focused experience in Kafue for budget and adventure travelers.

Mozhi Bush Camp provides chalet-style lodging suited for families and small groups, while Nzovu Rundu targets luxury travelers seeking privacy and guided experiences.

Wildlife and guest experience

Game viewing remains central across all properties, with regular sightings of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and birdlife along rivers and floodplains.

Activities include game drives, walking safaris, canoeing and boat cruises along the Nkalanga Channel.

Guests also take part in sundowners, bush dining and sunrise breakfasts in select locations, designed to highlight Zambia’s natural setting without heavy development.

Blending comfort and wilderness

Shearzone Safaris says its approach is to keep structures low-impact while improving comfort standards where possible.

Camps are positioned to reflect their surroundings, with open layouts and river-facing designs that prioritize views and airflow.

The company caters to families, couples and solo travelers, offering flexible itineraries that range from adventure-focused trips to more private, luxury stays.
