Few & Far, the eco-conscious travel brand founded by Sarah and Jacob Dusek in 2024, has officially launched its flagship sustainable safari lodge, Few & Far Luvhondo, in South Africa.

The lodge delivers a world-class safari experience that prioritizes conservation, sustainability, and the restoration of the Soutpansberg Mountains, a critical biodiversity hotspot.

Designed for discerning travelers, Few & Far Luvhondo seamlessly combines luxury accommodations with a mission to protect the region’s unique ecosystems and wildlife.

Situated within the UNESCO-designated Vhembe Biosphere Reserve, the lodge opened its doors on January 16, combining luxury, adventure, and regenerative tourism in a one-of-a-kind, environmentally-conscious retreat.

Exclusive Retreat in the Soutpansberg Mountains

Located in the striking Soutpansberg Mountains of Limpopo, Few & Far Luvhondo occupies 100,000 hectares (about 400 square miles) of pristine wilderness.

The lodge features six opulent cliffside suites, each surrounded by ancient baobab trees, providing guests with unparalleled views and access to the region’s diverse biodiversity.

These eco-luxury suites offer private plunge pools, expansive terraces, and interiors thoughtfully designed to reflect the natural surroundings, from local flora to geological features.

The architectural vision for the lodge comes from the renowned South African-based Nicholas Plewman Architects and Ohkre Collective, blending biophilic design with sustainability.

Drawing inspiration from the region’s iconic baobab and shepherd trees, the design seamlessly integrates with the landscape, creating an eco-friendly and immersive guest experience.

Dedicated to conservation and regenerative tourism

Few & Far Luvhondo distinguishes itself through its unwavering dedication to sustainability.

The lodge operates entirely on renewable energy and follows a strict zero-waste model, making a significant impact on local conservation efforts.

Key sustainability initiatives include a carbon offset program, the reforestation of 100,000 hectares of land, and the sequestration of over 100,000 tons of carbon annually by 2035.

Further, the lodge partners with local farmers and artisans to foster economic growth, providing job opportunities and supporting community development.

Safari experiences beyond the ordinary

Reinventing the traditional safari, Few & Far Luvhondo offers guests more than just game drives.

While the lodge features classic safari experiences like guided game drives to spot giraffes, leopards, and zebras, as well as bird watching opportunities with over 600 bird species.

It introduces unique excursions such as guided nature walks, mountain hikes, and its signature Solfari—a solar-powered aerial safari via cable car offering breathtaking views of the landscape.

Local flavors, culinary excellence

Culinary offerings at Few & Far Luvhondo are led by chef Nhalkanipho Soxhela and sommelier Erica Taylor, who curate a sustainable, farm-to-table menu infused with South Africa’s culinary heritage.

Guests will indulge in traditional boma braais and exclusive multi-course bush dinners.

Wine connoisseurs can enjoy locally produced, sustainable varietals, including the renowned Chenin Blancs of the region, expertly paired with each dish to enhance the dining experience.

Wellness and eco-conscious living

In addition to its luxury accommodations and adventurous experiences, Few & Far Luvhondo integrates wellness offerings that harmonize with its commitment to eco-conscious living.

Guests can unwind with spa treatments using organic, locally-sourced ingredients, partake in outdoor yoga sessions, or find peace on the lodge’s meditative labyrinth walk.

Redefining the new era

“As the luxury travel industry evolves in a post-pandemic world, sustainability, authenticity, and purpose are paramount,” said Sarah Dusek, co-founder of Few & Far.

“Few & Far Luvhondo is a bold step forward, offering travelers an opportunity to connect deeply with local cultures and landscapes while contributing to a sustainable, positive impact.”

More than just a luxury safari lodge, Few & Far Luvhondo represents a transformative approach to mindful travel, where conservation, community development, and eco-luxury intersect to create an unforgettable experience for discerning travelers.
