Kenzi Farah Marrakech isn’t just another stop in Morocco’s red city. It’s the kind of hotel that quietly sits between the noise of downtown and the hush of its own gardens.

Spread across five acres in Hivernage, it gives guests the rare chance to enjoy the best of both worlds, close enough to feel the city’s pulse, yet far enough to sleep soundly.

A short drive takes you to the Medina or Jemaa el-Fna, and the airport isn’t much farther. For travelers who come to Marrakech for both work and a bit of rest, the location makes a difference.

A classic with a story
When it opened in the late 1980s, Kenzi Farah helped shape what we now call modern hospitality in Marrakech.

It was one of the first big hotels to host international guests long before the well-known global names arrived. Many people in the city still remember it as a symbol of change, a place that put Marrakech on the international travel map.

Time, of course, has moved on, and so has the hotel. Each renovation kept the soul of the old property intact while bringing in what travelers expect today. The tiled courtyards, the arched hallways, and the soft desert tones remain. But you’ll also notice new touches, larger windows, softer lighting, and furniture that feels lived-in rather than showroom perfect.

At the center of everything
The Hivernage district sits between the traditional Marrakech and its newer, livelier side. From Kenzi Farah, you can walk to cafés, casinos, and meeting centers. The Medina, with its spice-scented alleys, is only a few minutes away.

Still, once you’re inside the hotel gates, the mood changes. The gardens and trees keep most of the city sounds at bay. You can sit by the pool and barely hear the traffic. That’s something few hotels in this part of the city can truly offer.

Rooms and gathering spaces
There are 385 rooms and suites here, most of them facing the gardens or the pool. The décor leans toward warm Moroccan colors, with plenty of sunlight filtering through the large windows.

Suites give you extra space, useful if you’re staying longer or holding small meetings.

The property has a good mix of event rooms, including a ballroom that can handle big corporate or social events. The outdoor terraces and gardens often become the backdrop for weddings and company launches.

Food and unwinding
The hotel’s dining options reflect how Marrakech itself eats, a bit of everywhere. L’Orangeraie covers international fare, while Johara focuses on Moroccan dishes made with a lighter hand.

For something easygoing, The Jockey Bar and Snack L’Oasis serve quick meals and drinks. Breakfasts, often taken outdoors under the palms, are slow and unhurried, as mornings in Marrakech should be.

After long hours in the city, guests usually end up at the pool or the spa. The hammam and massage treatments take cues from old Moroccan wellness rituals, offering simple comfort more than luxury excess.

Still part of Marrakech’s story
Kenzi Farah has been around long enough to earn its place among the city’s trusted addresses. It’s not the flashiest or the newest, but it is dependable. Many who’ve stayed once tend to return, not for novelty, but for the familiarity it offers.

That might be the hotel’s quiet strength. Marrakech keeps changing, but Kenzi Farah holds a small pocket of calm right at its center, a reminder that even in a busy city, peace can be found behind a garden wall.
