Lemala Nanyukie is a luxury safari lodge in Tanzania’s Serengeti, designed for travelers who crave stillness without losing touch with comfort.

Set on the quiet eastern plains, this eco-friendly camp by Lemala Camps & Lodges combines refined style with raw wilderness.

Opened in 2018, it offers guests front-row views of the Serengeti migration and personalized service that reflects the spirit of Tanzania’s landscapes.

A calm, contemporary retreat
Nanyukie doesn’t shout luxury; it whispers it. The 15 tented suites stretch out across raised decks, each with a small plunge pool that overlooks the grasslands.

Inside, the palette is simple, canvas walls, soft woods, and woven rugs that carry a handmade touch. The spaces feel honest and uncluttered, as if the designers knew the real drama was outside.

The main area opens to the breeze, its lanterns flickering softly after dusk. Dinner is often outdoors, where the smell of grilled meat mingles with acacia smoke, and stories float easily across the fire.

Days that unfold slowly
Life here follows the rhythm of the plains. Mornings start early with coffee and the hum of jeeps warming up for game drives. You might see lions on a kill, or watch elephants moving through the mist.

By afternoon, the heat slows everything down, a good time for a swim, a nap, or just to sit and listen to the wind. Evenings bring the ritual of sundowners and the first stars pricking the dark sky.

Quiet luxury
Each suite feels personal. Beds face wide glass doors that open to the savannah. There’s a deep tub, perfect for a soak as dusk turns the plains to amber.

Meals are relaxed, eggs and fruit served under an acacia tree, grilled dinners, and South African wines poured with easy conversation.

Time for stillness
Nanyukie gives guests something that’s hard to find: space. There’s a small spa for gentle massages, yoga mats for sunrise stretches, and private dinners arranged under the stars. The sense of quiet is deliberate. You leave feeling lighter, not just rested.

A lodge that gives back
The lodge runs mostly on solar power and works closely with local communities. Most of its staff come from nearby villages, and the team supports conservation projects that help protect the Serengeti’s wildlife and fragile ecosystems.

The soul of the Serengeti
Lemala Nanyukie isn’t flashy. It’s subtle, confident, and deeply rooted in place, the kind of lodge that reminds you why people fall in love with safaris in the first place.

It’s not just about the animals or the landscape. It’s about stillness, comfort, and that rare feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be.
