  • The seven-night safari circuit offers luxury, seclusion, and wildlife-rich experiences.

Botswana’s Okavango Delta — one of Africa’s most remarkable wilderness destinations — is taking luxury travel to new heights.

Renowned hospitality group &Beyond has unveiled two new safari camps, Sandibe Under Canvas and Nxabega Under Canvas, set deep within Botswana’s pristine wilderness.

Together with the refurbished Chobe Under Canvas, these additions mark a bold step toward a more sustainable and immersive safari experience.

The Okavango Delta, famous for its labyrinth of lagoons and floodplains, is no stranger to high-end tourism.

Yet &Beyond’s latest openings signal a shift toward simplicity, intimacy, and connection with nature — a return to safari’s pure essence.

Instead of grand lodges, the group is focusing on mobile-style camps that prioritize both comfort and conservation.

With the launch of the Botswana Under Canvas circuit, travelers can now embark on a seamless seven-night journey through three distinct ecosystems — the elephant-filled forests of Chobe, the predator-dense plains of Sandibe, and the tranquil waterways of Nxabega.

The experience blends barefoot authenticity with refined comfort, offering guests a close and conscious encounter with the wild.

Sandibe under Canvas: Big Cats and Delta magic

At Sandibe Under Canvas, the rhythm of the Delta is ever-present. Each morning begins with the echo of lions in the distance and the calls of fish eagles across the floodplain.

The camp sits in one of Botswana’s most wildlife-rich areas, providing year-round sightings of lions, leopards, elephants, and wild dogs.

Guests can join expert-led game drives, walking safaris, or cultural visits to nearby villages — experiences that reveal the deep ties between people and the land.

Nxabega under Canvas: Serenity on the water

Further west, Nxabega Under Canvas captures the softer spirit of the Delta.

Mokoro canoe rides glide through papyrus-fringed channels, while water-level-dependent fishing and guided walks invite guests to slow down and absorb the stillness of the wetlands.

Designed for only six guests, the camp’s three tents feature king beds, double showers, solar power, and Starlink Wi-Fi — a first for &Beyond’s Under Canvas collection.

Every detail underscores &Beyond’s commitment to sustainability.

Solar-powered systems, low-impact infrastructure, and partnerships with nearby villages — including Shorobe, Sexaxa, Gogomoga, and Tsutsubega — support conservation efforts and local employment through the company’s Wild Impact program.

“Our new Botswana Under Canvas camps celebrate safari in its purest form — intimate, low-impact, and deeply connected to place,” said Riaan Venter, &Beyond’s Southern Africa Regional Manager.

“The real luxury is in the simplicity — fresh bread baked over open coals, lanterns that mirror the stars, and the quiet comfort that lets nature take center stage.”

A journey through Botswana’s wild heart

The seven-night Chobe and Okavango Delta Under Canvas itinerary starts at USD 4,840 per person sharing, offering couples, families, and small groups a rare blend of adventure, seclusion, and eco-luxury.

It’s not just a safari — it’s a journey into the rhythm of Botswana’s wild heart, where the land and its people are as much a part of the experience as the wildlife itself.
