  • A newly upgraded five-bedroom lodge reopens in Manyeleti with modern interiors and private waterhole views.
  • Guests enjoy a full-service team, tailored game drives and family-friendly programs.
  • Ideal for exclusive-use luxury stays as demand rises for private safari retreats.

Tintswalo Manor, one of Greater Kruger’s most private safari retreats, has reopened after a major upgrade aimed at improving comfort and guest experience.

Its return comes as demand grows for exclusive-use safari stays, a segment increasingly favored by travelers seeking quiet landscapes and personalized service.

The relaunch is well timed. South Africa is heading into its peak summer period, and high-end travelers are showing renewed interest in small lodges that offer space, privacy and wildlife access without crowds.

Tintswalo Manor now enters that market with a sharper focus on modern comfort while keeping the relaxed feel of a classic bush home.

Set inside the Manyeleti Game Reserve, the lodge sits in a landscape known for its open plains, calm roads and reliable Big Five sightings.

The reserve has become a draw for travelers looking for an alternative to Kruger National Park’s busier gateways. Tintswalo Manor’s return adds fresh energy to this growing corner of the safari circuit.

The upgrade includes new interiors, improved flooring and a fully renewed roof — part of an investment to blend contemporary design with the reserve’s natural surroundings.

For families and small groups, the lodge is positioned as an easy, private base in one of the region’s richest wildlife areas.

Refreshed spaces and waterhole views

Inside, the exclusive-use five-bedroom lodge has been redesigned with lighter colors and softer textures, creating open, calm spaces that connect directly to the bush.

Shared lounge and dining areas lead onto deep verandas shaded by trees. A new open-air bar and lounge overlook a waterhole that draws elephants, antelope and predators throughout the day.

Guests stay with a full team on hand — including a private chef, butler, housekeepers and a dedicated guide with a safari vehicle.

Game drives take place twice a day and are tailored to each group, offering close-up views of lions, birds at dawn and the reserve’s sweeping landscapes.

For families, the property is fenced for safety without feeling removed from the wilderness.

A Kids’ Programme includes tracking lessons with rangers, scavenger hunts, baking sessions and beading workshops.

Experiences designed for quiet luxury

Meals are served on the terrace or in remote bush spots where open-fire breakfasts and evening boma dinners add to the experience.

Guests can also book a sleep-out in a treehouse beneath a Weeping Boer Bean tree — a night in the wild with modern comforts.

Tintswalo Manor can be reached via Hoedspruit Airport or by a six-hour drive from Johannesburg. Rates include meals, house drinks, laundry service and all safari activities.

With new upgrades and uninterrupted waterhole views, the lodge is set to welcome travelers looking for a private summer getaway in Greater Kruger.
