Label’Vie S.A., a leading Moroccan multi-format food retailer and subsidiary of Retail Holding, has grown into Morocco’s largest and most influential retail group, transforming the country’s grocery landscape through its exclusive franchise partnership with global retail giant Carrefour.

Founded in 1986, the company began as a regional supermarket operator before evolving into a nationwide, multi-format retail powerhouse.

Carrefour partnership reshaped Moroccan retail
The turning point came in 2009, when Label’Vie secured the exclusive Carrefour franchise for Morocco.

The alliance granted access to international sourcing networks, private-label products, advanced logistics, and global retail expertise. It also accelerated Label’Vie’s shift from a single-format operator into a diversified retail system spanning hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, and discount outlets.

Multi-format strategy drives nationwide expansion
Today, Label’Vie operates more than 200 Carrefour-branded stores across Morocco, including Carrefour hypermarkets, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Express, Supeco, and Atacadao. Its footprint extends from Casablanca and Rabat to secondary cities, allowing the group to capture both urban spending power and emerging consumption trends.

Financial performance has mirrored this expansion. With a market capitalization exceeding MAD12 billion, Label’Vie recorded double-digit sales growth in 2025, supported by strong same-store sales and the opening of dozens of new outlets.

Strong sales growth signals market leadership
Revenues have climbed toward MAD16 billion, while a $100 million bond issuance has reinforced investor confidence in the group’s long-term strategy. Central to Label’Vie’s dominance is its multi-format approach.

By targeting premium shoppers, mass-market consumers, and price-sensitive households simultaneously, the retailer has built an ecosystem aligned with Morocco’s evolving lifestyles and urbanization trends.

As organized retail continues to expand across North Africa, Label’Vie, anchored by its Carrefour partnership and backed by Retail Holding, stands as the benchmark for modern retail success in Morocco.
