Golden Pillars Development has signed an agreement with Rotana Hotels to manage and operate Swar Hotel, a mixed-use project in Shorouk City.

The agreement marks Golden Pillars’ first hospitality venture in Shorouk and forms part of its plan to work with established international operators across its projects.

Swar Hotel will combine hotel and commercial space. Located less than 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport, the development is designed to serve business and leisure travelers seeking access to eastern Cairo and the New Administrative Capital.

Rotana to manage Egypt project

Under the agreement, Rotana will take full responsibility for managing the hotel, including day-to-day operations, service standards and compliance with international hospitality benchmarks.

The Abu Dhabi-based operator runs nearly 80 hotels with close to 22,000 rooms across more than 14 countries. It plans to expand to about 120 hotels and 28,000 rooms over the next four years, according to company figures.

Golden Pillars officials said the project is intended to create an integrated destination that blends hospitality and retail while offering long-term value for investors.

Rotana representatives said their decision followed a feasibility study that underscored the site’s location and demand outlook in Egypt’s tourism and business travel market.

The agreement lays the groundwork for a broader partnership, with both sides signaling interest in additional projects in Egypt.
