Africa’s luxury travel market is drawing growing global attention, with travelers seeking experiences that offer privacy, authenticity and a deeper connection to nature.

Few destinations meet that demand as naturally as the Okavango Delta, a vast wilderness known for rich wildlife, sweeping floodplains and some of the finest safari experiences on the continent.

Now, Singita is preparing to expand its footprint in African conservation tourism with Singita Elela, a high-end safari lodge scheduled to open in December 2026 in northern Botswana.

The opening is expected to strengthen Botswana’s standing as one of Africa’s leading luxury safari destinations.

For travelers, Elela promises more than refined accommodation.

It offers rare access to one of Africa’s most remarkable ecosystems, combining comfort, quiet exclusivity and close encounters with wildlife in a setting shaped by water, open skies and untouched landscapes.

Named after the Setswana word for “to flow,” the lodge reflects the changing rhythm of the Delta itself.

Seasonal floodwaters shape life here, drawing animals across grasslands, channels and palm-covered islands that shift in character throughout the year.

Built for privacy and comfort

Singita Elela will have just eight elevated private retreats, giving the property an intimate feel in a market where space and privacy are increasingly valued.

The collection will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and four-bedroom residences, each designed as a private retreat in the wilderness.

Inside, guests will find spacious living areas, private pools, outdoor firepits and wide decks that open directly onto views of the surrounding landscape.

Each residence will also come with a private guide, dedicated vehicle and personalized hosting, allowing every stay to feel carefully tailored rather than scripted.

A safari shaped by wild space

Set within the NG26 Abu private concession, Singita Elela will have exclusive access to 170,000 hectares of protected wilderness.

That scale gives guests a more flexible safari experience, including day and night game drives, off-road wildlife viewing and seasonal water-based activities such as mokoro trips and boating.

The area is known for large elephant herds, as well as lions, leopards and spotted hyenas.

Birdlife is also abundant, adding another layer to an experience built around nature at its most vivid and unspoiled.

Guests enjoy day and night drives, mokoro trips and boating adventures.

A major addition to Botswana tourism

For Botswana, Singita’s arrival is another sign of the country’s growing appeal in high-end tourism, where conservation, exclusivity and meaningful travel increasingly shape visitor choices.

For travelers looking for a private luxury safari in Africa, Singita Elela is set to become one of the continent’s most sought-after destinations.
