Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments (Fawry), Egypt’s largest digital-only financial services platform led by Ashraf Sabry, has obtained a third-party administrator (TPA) license in Egypt through its subsidiary Treemed TPA, marking a decisive expansion into healthcare services.

The approval positions Fawry to extend its fintech dominance beyond payments into healthcare administration, one of Egypt’s fastest-digitizing sectors.

Launch of Fawry healthcare ecosystem

Through Treemed TPA, the company is launching Fawry Healthcare, a digital platform designed to streamline claims management, healthcare provider network administration, and digital healthcare payments.

The system will also introduce additional services aimed at improving affordability and expanding access to medical care for patients, insurers, corporates, and healthcare providers.

Fawry said the platform will enhance operational efficiency across the healthcare ecosystem by digitizing administrative workflows, reducing friction, and improving transparency between stakeholders.

Data-driven efficiency and fraud control

The company is integrating digital technologies and advanced analytics to strengthen fraud detection, reduce claims leakage, and improve real-time decision-making across the healthcare value chain.

By leveraging its existing fintech infrastructure, Fawry aims to scale provider networks faster while delivering more integrated healthcare payment and administration solutions.

Expansion beyond payments

“This license marks a pivotal step in our strategy to expand beyond payments and become a key enabler across essential sectors.

With Treemed TPA and the launch of Fawry Healthcare, we are bringing our digital capabilities into the healthcare space to simplify processes, reduce inefficiencies, and improve access to quality services for millions of Egyptians,” Ashraf Sabry, CEO of Fawry, stated.

Fawry recently reported its strongest financial performance to date, posting nearly $60 million in net profit for 2025, underscoring its leadership in Egypt’s accelerating shift toward a cashless economy.

Treemed TPA serves as the operational foundation of Fawry Healthcare, bridging insurers, corporates, and healthcare providers through a unified digital claims management system designed to improve efficiency, transparency, and patient access.
