Liquid Intelligent Technologies, part of Cassava Technologies owned by Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa, is expanding its cloud and cybersecurity footprint in Botswana as competition intensifies for Africa’s enterprise digital infrastructure market.

The rollout strengthens Botswana’s positioning as a regional connectivity hub, with businesses gaining access to integrated cloud services, cybersecurity tools, and digital transformation support designed for both small enterprises and large corporations.

At the centre of the offering is Secure360, an integrated security framework from Liquid Intelligent Technologies, designed to shift organisations from reactive cyber defense to predictive, intelligence-led protection.

Secure360 combines cloud infrastructure, threat monitoring, and risk intelligence into a unified platform aimed at strengthening enterprise resilience.

According to the company, the model is designed to support Africa’s fast-digitising sectors, including financial services, telecoms, and government systems—where cyber risks are rising alongside cloud adoption.

The platform also integrates access to data centres, AI readiness assessments, and digital transformation roadmaps through a single ecosystem built to scale across African markets.

Expanding fibre backbone and regional connectivity

Liquid Intelligent Technologies highlighted its growing infrastructure footprint, including more than 1,174 km of fibre deployed across the region and a 730 km backbone along Botswana’s A1 corridor.

This network connects Botswana to key regional economies including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sudan, reinforcing its role in cross-border digital trade and connectivity.

The infrastructure expansion is designed to improve latency, resilience, and enterprise-grade cloud performance for businesses operating across multiple African jurisdictions.

Scaling Africa’s digital economy strategy

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, part of Cassava Technologies, operates across more than 40 markets in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, positioning itself as a key player in emerging-market digital infrastructure and cloud connectivity.

Strive Masiyiwa, with a Forbes-estimated net worth of $2.2 billion, has consistently emphasized that scalable broadband, fiber networks, and cloud infrastructure are critical to closing Africa’s digital divide and accelerating inclusive economic growth.

As Botswana advances its Vision 2036 agenda, the partnership between cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and national digital policy is expected to play a central role in strengthening digital resilience and accelerating economic diversification.
