Nammos to open ultra-luxury resort and residences on Egypt’s North Coast

Nammos Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in Africa with plans to open its first fully integrated luxury destination in Egypt, adding to growing investment along the country’s Mediterranean coastline. 

The project, called Nammos Ras El Hekma, will be developed in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based Modon Holding and will combine a luxury hotel, branded residences and a lifestyle village within the fast-growing Ras El Hekma development. 

The announcement comes as Egypt’s North Coast continues to attract international hospitality brands and investors seeking opportunities in one of the Mediterranean’s fastest-growing tourism markets. 

Located about 124 miles (200 kilometers) west of Alexandria, the development forms part of the Wadi Yemm district, the first precinct under construction within the wider Ras El Hekma masterplan.

Luxury resort blends hospitality and residences 

The project will include the Nammos Resort, featuring 79 hotel accommodations across five room categories, from junior suites to presidential and celebration suites.

Alongside the hotel, Nammos Residences will offer 72 branded apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms, including a penthouse. 

Residents and guests will have access to wellness facilities, swimming pools, fitness centers, spa services, children’s activities, private dining spaces and curated retail outlets.

The development will also feature the brand’s signature Nammos Restaurant & Beach Club with direct access to the Mediterranean shoreline.

Executives see Egypt as a key growth market 

“Nammos Ras El Hekma has been designed as a place where hospitality, residences and lifestyle come together in a seamless and authentic way,” Carolyn Turnbull, CEO of Nammos Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement.

She said the project reflects the brand’s focus on creating destinations that bring people together through hospitality and shared experiences. 

Chairman Petros Stathis said the project marks an important step in the company’s international expansion.

He said Egypt’s North Coast has become an attractive destination for luxury tourism, making Ras El Hekma a natural location for the brand’s first integrated development in the country.

Ras El Hekma aims to become year-round destination 

Modon Holding Group CEO Bill O’Regan said Wadi Yemm is the first of Ras El Hekma’s 17 planned districts to move into development.

He said the project is intended to create a year-round destination that combines residential communities, tourism and investment opportunities. 

The broader Ras El Hekma masterplan spans about 170.8 million square meters and is expected to attract about $110 billion in investment by 2045.

Plans include an international airport, high-speed rail connections, marinas, a cruise terminal, business districts and cultural attractions designed to support long-term economic growth.
