Raxio Group, one of the leading data center operators in Africa, has appointed Dennis Kahindi as General Manager for Uganda, strengthening the leadership of one of Africa’s fastest-growing data center operators as demand for cloud computing, secure data storage and digital infrastructure continues to accelerate across the continent.

The appointment underscores Raxio’s strategy to expand its pan-African network of carrier-neutral data centers as governments, financial institutions and private enterprises increasingly invest in local data hosting, cybersecurity and cloud services to comply with data sovereignty requirements and improve digital resilience.

More than two decades of ICT leadership

Kahindi joins Raxio from Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. He brings more than 20 years of executive leadership across East Africa’s technology and telecommunications sectors.

His career spans senior leadership roles at Huawei, Microsoft, Oracle, Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Airtel Uganda. Before joining Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda, he led Oracle’s Rwanda business while based in Kenya.

He also served as Microsoft Country Manager for Uganda and Rwanda, overseeing business expansion and digital transformation initiatives. His experience includes corporate strategy, commercial growth, operational leadership, contract negotiations, profitability management and strategic partnerships.

Expanding Africa’s digital backbone

Founded in 2018, Raxio Group has emerged as one of Africa’s leading carrier-neutral Tier III data center operators, providing colocation, cross-connect, fiber connectivity and IT infrastructure services to enterprises, cloud providers, hyperscalers and network operators.

The company operates data centers in Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Angola, with a new facility currently under development in Tanzania.

Raxio has secured more than $380 million in committed capital from shareholders Roha and Meridiam, alongside financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF), supporting its long-term expansion strategy across high-growth African markets.
