American pop star Beyoncé has acquired full control of the SirDavis whisky brand after French luxury goods group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE sold its stake in the company. LVMH confirmed the sale Monday, following earlier media reports.

The transaction marks a change in ownership less than two years after Beyoncé and LVMH launched SirDavis in 2024. The venture was part of a broader push by luxury groups to work with celebrities on consumer brands, following deals such as LVMH’s partnership with Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, on Armand de Brignac champagne.

SirDavis blends Texas roots with heritage

Beyoncé named the whisky after her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a farmer in the American South who made moonshine during Prohibition. The brand draws on that family history as well as Beyoncé’s Texas roots.

SirDavis was developed with Bill Lumsden, director of whisky creation at Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, both Moët Hennessy brands. The whisky is made from a mash bill of 51 percent rye and 49 percent malted barley, finished in sherry casks and bottled at 44 percent alcohol. It is distilled in Indiana before being finished, blended and bottled in Texas.

The brand was Moët Hennessy’s first spirits label created from the ground up in the United States. Rather than taking a stake in an established whisky company, the group worked with Beyoncé to develop SirDavis as a new brand before selling its interest less than two years after the launch.

Beyoncé’s fortune reaches $1 billion

The sale comes as Beyoncé’s business interests expand beyond music. Forbes has valued her fortune at $1 billion, making her the world’s 3,327th-richest person, according to the publication. The increase in her wealth followed the commercial success of her move into country music, including the release of Cowboy Carter and a series of major live performances.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour had already established a major financial benchmark for the singer. The three-hour tour, which drew from across her catalog, grossed nearly $600 million in 2023 and ranked among the biggest concert tours of the year.

She followed that success with Cowboy Carter in 2024, a country-focused album that opened another chapter in her career and created new commercial opportunities. The project was followed by a Christmas NFL halftime performance and the highest-grossing concert tour of 2025, according to the information provided.
