Fairway Boutique Hotel has built its identity around a rare combination of history, location and modern hospitality. Located on Kafu Road in Kampala’s Nakasero district, the hotel occupies a site whose history stretches back nearly a century.

The property began as a family home belonging to the Jaffer family before being converted into a hotel in 1969 to accommodate the delegation accompanying Pope Paul VI during his visit to Uganda. It was officially launched in 1971 by the Aga Khan with 50 rooms.

After periods linked to government use and hospitality training, the property returned to the Jaffer family and expanded into a 100-room boutique hotel with restaurants, gardens, conference facilities and leisure amenities.

Rooms built for business and leisure

Fairway Boutique Hotel offers Standard, Deluxe, Executive and Executive Twin rooms, giving travelers several options depending on the length and purpose of their stay.

The hotel also highlights complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, breakfast, garden views and Netflix access in Executive Rooms, features aimed at both business travelers and leisure guests.

Dining and wellness take center stage

Dining is a significant part of the hotel’s offering. Its Asian Fusion Restaurant serves Indian and Chinese cuisine in a courtyard setting featuring traditional art and Thai-inspired sculptures.

Food Parq provides another dining option, while The Professor Bar offers a more relaxed setting for drinks and social gatherings.

Beyond food, Fairway has two spas, a fitness studio and swimming pools. Guests can choose from treatments including aromatherapy, steam sessions, sauna facilities, body scrubs and aqua detox.

A Kampala hotel for meetings and events

The property also caters to Kampala’s corporate market with 10 meeting and conference rooms equipped with audiovisual technology, wireless microphones, projectors and conference cameras. Its largest hall can host up to 180 people.

That mix of accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and conference space gives Fairway Boutique Hotel a distinctive position in Kampala’s hospitality market.

For travelers seeking a historic hotel in Kampala with modern amenities and a central location, Fairway offers more than accommodation. It is a hotel shaped by Uganda’s past while catering to the demands of today’s business and leisure traveler.
