Koryx Copper, a Canadian mineral development and exploration company focused on advancing major copper assets in Africa, is advancing one of Namibia’s most significant copper development projects after reporting broad and consistent mineralised intercepts from its latest drilling campaign at the Haib Copper Project in southern Namibia.

The Luxembourg-domiciled copper developer reported assay results from 17 drill holes covering more than 6,430 metres of infill and expansion drilling, with the results highlighting the scale and continuity of copper mineralisation across the Haib deposit as the company moves toward an updated mineral resource estimate and planned pre-feasibility study (PFS) at the end of 2026.

The latest results include an 831-metre interval grading 0.27% copper equivalent (CuEq) in hole HM155, including 244 metres at 0.42% CuEq. The company also recorded its highest copper and silver grades at Haib to date, with a 2-metre interval grading 8.01% copper and 60.5 grams per tonne of silver from near surface.

Koryx Copper expands Haib’s mineralisation

Koryx Copper’s latest drilling campaign is focused on improving the definition of mineralisation within Haib while testing areas where the existing geological model could be expanded.

The Haib deposit is a large disseminated porphyry copper system containing copper, molybdenum and gold, with the company planning a large-scale open-pit operation using conventional sulphide milling and flotation to produce copper and molybdenum concentrates. Additional copper cathode production through oxide heap leaching is also being evaluated.

Among the strongest results, HM155 returned 831 metres at 0.27% CuEq from surface, including 244 metres at 0.42% CuEq between 536 and 780 metres. HM147 delivered 654 metres at 0.25% CuEq, including 84 metres at 0.47% CuEq, while HM152 returned 578 metres at 0.25% CuEq.

Other notable intersections included 466 metres at 0.26% CuEq in HM139, 497 metres at 0.22% CuEq in HM146 and 605 metres at 0.21% CuEq in HM134. The results also provided evidence of higher-grade zones within the broader mineralised system, including 76 metres at 0.52% CuEq in HM139 and 84 metres at 0.47% CuEq in HM147.

Haib records highest copper and silver grades

The most striking result came from HMRC008, an infill reverse-circulation hole in the northwestern part of Target Area 1. The hole returned 231 metres at 0.44% CuEq from surface, including a 12-metre interval at 2.55% CuEq. Within that interval, a 2-metre section from 4 to 6 metres returned 8.01% copper, 330 parts per million molybdenum, 0.342 grams per tonne gold and 60.5 grams per tonne silver, representing the highest copper and silver grades recorded at Haib to date.

The company said the silver result could support the development of silver as an additional potential by-product, alongside the deposit’s existing molybdenum and gold credits.

Koryx Copper President and CEO Heye Daun said the latest results stood out for both their length and grade, highlighting the 831-metre HM155 intersection and the continuous higher-grade zones encountered in HM139 and HM147.

The company said drilling remains ongoing with 15 rigs, including seven operating on double shifts, as it works toward completing the infill programme ahead of an updated resource estimate.

Koryx Copper advances Haib toward PFS

The latest drilling results come as Koryx Copper continues technical studies and cost estimates for Haib, with publication of a PFS planned for the end of 2026.

More than 145,000 metres of drilling have been completed at Haib since the 1970s, with exploration and development work previously undertaken by companies including Falconbridge, Rio Tinto and Teck, alongside Koryx Copper’s ongoing programme.

The company is now seeking to demonstrate Haib’s potential as a long-life, low-cost and low-risk open-pit copper project, supported by sulphide milling and flotation and potential heap-leach production.

Located in southern Namibia, Haib is described by Koryx Copper as a Paleoproterozoic porphyry copper deposit, with mineralisation dominated by chalcopyrite and smaller amounts of bornite and chalcocite.

As drilling continues across the Haib system, the latest results are expected to help refine the deposit’s mineral resource model and determine the potential scale of future mining operations. With broad copper-equivalent intersections, additional high-grade zones and growing by-product credits, Koryx Copper is positioning Haib for its next stage of development as it works toward the planned 2026 PFS.
