Andrada Mining has secured $6 million in long-term financing to expand its Uis tin mine in Namibia, clearing a key funding hurdle for a new ore-sorting circuit designed to increase production and improve processing efficiency.

Bank Windhoek, DBN provide $6 million financing

Andrada Mining’s Namibian subsidiary, Uis Tin Mining Company (UTMC), has signed definitive agreements for loan facilities totaling N$98 million ($6 million) with Bank Windhoek and the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN).

The 10-year facilities comprise two equal N$49 million ($3 million) tranches. Andrada said all conditions required for the lenders to release the funds have been satisfied. The financing completes UTMC’s funding requirements for the planned operational upgrades at the Uis Mine, allowing the company to move its ore-sorting expansion into execution.

Uis Mine targets higher tin production

The ore-sorting circuit will operate as a modular addition to the existing processing plant. It will pre-concentrate run-of-mine ore and feed higher-grade tin material into the mine’s existing processing circuits.

Andrada said upgrades to the crushing and screening sections will also address processing bottlenecks, increase throughput and improve operating efficiency.

The company expects the project to increase tin concentrate production by about 50% to 70%, lifting output to roughly 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes a year and containing tin production to between 1,500 and 1,900 tonnes annually. Project execution is already under way, with key contractors appointed and equipment fabrication in progress.

Andrada looks to unlock Uis Mine potential

Andrada Mining CEO Anthony Viljoen said the financing partnership with Bank Windhoek and DBN allows the company to move ahead with the Uis expansion while reducing project funding risk.

“The appointment of two well-known engineering firms to fabricate and execute on this project has enabled the early work required to meet the project delivery timelines,” Viljoen said.

Andrada Mining is an AIM-listed critical raw materials mining and exploration company focused on technology and green metals. Its flagship Uis Tin Mine is in Namibia’s Erongo region and produces tin, tantalum and lithium concentrates.

UTMC is Andrada’s primary operating subsidiary in Namibia and manages the open-pit Uis Mine, which processes pegmatite deposits containing critical minerals. Beyond Uis, Andrada is also developing exposure to copper and tungsten, supported by strategic partnerships, as it seeks to build a broader critical minerals business in Namibia.
