Namibian finance executive Karl-Stefan Altmann has joined the board of Letshego Holdings Namibia as a non-executive director, bringing more than two decades of accounting and financial services experience to the company.

Letshego Holdings Namibia announced Karl-Stefan Altmann’s appointment in a notice to the Namibian Stock Exchange, with the appointment taking effect on August 17, 2026.

Karl-Stefan Altmann is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years of experience in accounting, including 12 years in senior and executive management roles within the banking sector. His career spans banking, treasury, corporate and investment banking, financial management and audit.

Altmann returns to Letshego board

Altmann previously served as chief financial officer and executive director of Letshego Holdings Namibia and Letshego Bank between July 2021 and June 2025. He currently serves as group treasurer of Letshego Africa Holdings, giving him continued exposure to the group’s financial operations and broader African financial services activities.

Letshego Holdings Namibia said his experience in financial services, knowledge of the company’s operations and expertise in capital management and regulatory compliance would strengthen the board.

His appointment comes as Letshego continues to operate across Namibia’s financial services sector, with Altmann bringing institutional knowledge from his previous executive role at the group.

Two decades of banking and finance experience

Before joining Letshego, Karl-Stefan Altmann held several senior positions across Namibia’s financial services industry.

His career includes executive roles in corporate and investment banking and treasury at Nedbank Namibia, where he also served as chief financial officer and finance manager. He previously served as head of finance at Absa Namibia and began his professional career in audit, including a role as audit manager at Deloitte & Touche.

Altmann has accumulated three years of experience across corporate and investment banking and treasury, alongside his broader accounting and financial management background.

Stellenbosch-trained chartered accountant

Karl-Stefan Altmann holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Stellenbosch University and a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting from the University of South Africa. He is a chartered accountant in both Namibia and South Africa. His combination of accounting qualifications and senior banking experience has positioned him across financial reporting, treasury management, capital allocation, corporate finance and regulatory compliance.

Letshego Holdings Namibia said the board welcomed Altmann and expected his experience to contribute to the company’s strategic and financial oversight.

The appointment further strengthens the company’s board with a director who has previously held senior executive responsibilities within Letshego and brings extensive experience from Namibia’s banking and financial services industry.
