Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH), a leading healthcare services provider based in Cairo, operating across Africa and the Middle East and led by Egyptian businesswoman Hend El-Sherbini, has reported a 47% increase in net profit to EGP839 million ($16.1 million) in the first half of 2026, supported by higher patient volumes, stronger pricing and continued expansion across its markets.

According to IDH’s unaudited financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue increased 37% year-on-year to EGP4.86 billion ($93.17 million), up from EGP3.54 billion ($68 million) in H1 2025. The growth was driven by a 20% increase in tests performed and a 14% rise in average revenue per test.

IDH strengthens profitability as demand rises

Gross profit increased 41% to EGP2.11 billion ($40.4 million), while EBITDA climbed 38% to EGP1.65 billion ($31.6 million). The EBITDA margin remained broadly stable at 33.9%, compared with 33.6% a year earlier.

Operating profit rose 44% to EGP1.33 billion ($25.4 million), while adjusted net profit, excluding foreign-exchange gains and losses, increased 40% to EGP802 million ($15.4 million).

The company served 4.9 million patients during the period and conducted 23.6 million tests, with average tests per patient rising to 4.9 from 4.6.

Egypt remains core growth engine

Egypt generated EGP4.17 billion ($80 million), accounting for 85.9% of group revenue and representing 41% year-on-year growth. EBITDA increased 42% to EGP1.52 billion ($29.2 million), with a margin of approximately 36%.

The group’s branch network expanded to 839 locations by June 2026, up from 678 a year earlier, following the opening of 157 branches in Egypt, two in Jordan and three in Saudi Arabia.

International operations expand

Jordanian subsidiary Biolab generated EGP537 million ($10.3 million), up 9%, while Nigeria’s Echo-Lab recorded EGP73 million ($1.4 million), up 27% in Egyptian pound terms.

Saudi Arabia emerged as a high-growth market, with Biolab KSA revenue rising 199% to EGP76 million ($1.5 million), as patient traffic increased 144% and test volumes surged 194%.

In Sudan, operations remained restricted, with one branch partially operational while 17 others remained closed.

El-Sherbini’s ownership position strengthens

IDH’s shareholder structure also changed during the period after Hena Holdings, wholly owned by El-Sherbini and her mother, Moamena Abdul Wahab Kamel, acquired 21.67% of IDH from Actis IDH Limited.

The transaction lifted Hena Holdings’ stake to 49.62% and triggered a mandatory takeover offer. Following the offer process, its ownership increased to 56.67%, leaving public shareholders with a 43.33% free float.

Looking ahead, IDH plans to deepen its specialised diagnostics, radiology and radiotherapy services while expanding in structurally attractive markets, including Saudi Arabia. The group is also prioritising operational efficiency and disciplined capital allocation as it scales its integrated healthcare platform.
