Replit, the U.S. technology company behind a cloud-based software development platform, has acquired Egypt-founded artificial intelligence startup Atta, bringing AI-powered business analytics into its platform.

The deal will allow users to analyze data, answer business questions and create interactive charts directly through Replit’s chat interface without writing SQL code.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Atta’s data interpretation technology into Replit as the company seeks to reduce the gap between business teams that need answers from data and technical specialists who typically build the tools required to find them.

Analysis moves into chat

The first integration is already available through Replit Agent, the company’s AI-powered development tool. Users can upload a dataset or connect a data source through chat, ask questions in plain language and receive interactive charts and analysis without creating a separate analytics workflow.

The technology is designed for questions around growth, revenue and customer behavior, giving teams a faster way to examine key performance indicators and test business scenarios. Atta’s tools also support revenue forecasting, pricing analysis and retention modeling, areas that often require spreadsheets or specialized analytics software.

Atta co-founders Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa have joined Replit following the acquisition. Their technology will be integrated into a platform increasingly aimed at connecting software development, data analysis and business operations within the same digital workspace.

From Data To Action

Replit is also positioning analytics as part of a broader workflow. Data insights generated through the platform could eventually feed presentations, internal processes or new applications built with Replit, reducing the need to move information between multiple tools as teams turn analysis into business decisions.

Founded in 2016, Replit began as a browser-based integrated development environment supporting multiple programming languages and real-time collaboration. The company later expanded into application hosting and deployment, while adding artificial intelligence tools that allow users to generate software from natural-language instructions.

Replit pushes AI further

In September 2024, Replit introduced Replit Agent, which can generate and modify applications based on natural-language prompts. Later versions expanded its capabilities across project setup, coding, database configuration and deployment, reflecting Replit’s broader effort to make software creation accessible beyond traditional developers.

Atta, founded in Egypt, describes itself as an AI-powered business analysis and operations workspace. Its platform replaces rigid spreadsheet-based workflows with a visual workspace for comparing scenarios, tracking KPIs, forecasting revenue and modeling pricing, giving Replit another layer of business-focused functionality inside its AI platform.
