Asarian Energy Limited, a Toronto-based uranium exploration and development company advancing the Norasa Project in Namibia, has approved a 4,500-metre drilling programme at its Namibplaas uranium deposit to improve resource confidence and assess opportunities to upgrade its mineral resource classification.

In an announcement on October 7, 2026, the company said the programme would comprise 17 reverse circulation and diamond core drill holes at Namibplaas, located within Exploration Prospecting Licence 3638. Drilling is expected to begin in late October or early November 2026.

Drilling targets resource upgrade

The programme is designed to support an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for the Norasa Project and determine whether portions of the Namibplaas resource can be upgraded from the Inferred to the Indicated category.

Asarian Energy said its existing resource database relies predominantly on down-hole radiometric gamma logging, with comparatively limited supporting laboratory assay data. This limitation contributed to the current Inferred classification of the deposit. The planned drilling will generate additional geological and analytical information to assess mineralisation continuity, validate uranium grades and strengthen the geological interpretation.

The company will sample mineralised intersections for laboratory analysis and compare the results with composited down-hole gamma data to verify the conversion factors used to estimate equivalent uranium grades. The 17 holes will follow the existing drilling pattern, targeting mineralisation at depths of up to approximately 250 metres below surface. Each completed hole will undergo gamma logging, geochemical sampling and borehole trajectory surveys.

Norasa project advances resource optimisation

John Borshoff, director, president and chief executive of Asarian Energy, said the Namibplaas programme represents the first phase of a broader drilling campaign expected to continue in 2027.

The planned campaign will also extend to parts of the Valencia deposit, another component of the Norasa Project, to support resource optimisation.

Borshoff said the programme would help the company reassess its existing resource base and identify opportunities to improve resource definition and classification.

The latest drilling at Namibplaas was completed in mid-2023, making the new programme an important step in strengthening the geological data underpinning the deposit.
