Mitsumi Distribution, one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest technology distributors, is accelerating its international growth strategy with an expansion into India, Iraq and Morocco, positioning itself to capture rising demand for digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence solutions and enterprise technology across emerging markets.

The announcement was made during GITEX Kenya 2026 in Nairobi, where the technology distributor outlined plans to strengthen its presence in some of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies.

The move underscores increasing competition among technology distributors seeking to benefit from rapid investments in cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure and digital transformation.

New partnerships drive growth

As part of the expansion, Mitsumi has broadened its portfolio through new distribution agreements and strategic partnerships.

The company introduced consumer technology brand Nothing and imaging giant Fujifilm across East Africa, while adding Acer and AOC Philips to its India operations and expanding Lenovo distribution across Gulf Cooperation Council markets.

Mitsumi also strengthened its partnership with PNY across Africa, supporting growing demand for Nvidia-powered AI infrastructure. Additional agreements with PRAMA in India and East Africa and Targus in India further expand its reach across key technology segments.

“These markets present significant opportunities for technology vendors, channel partners and businesses seeking to accelerate their digital transformation journeys,” said Jagat Shah, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsumi Distribution.

Building a global technology ecosystem

According to Mitesh Shah, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, the company is focused on connecting international technology providers with rapidly expanding local markets. “Every new market and every new partnership expands access to technology, strengthens our ecosystem and creates new avenues for growth,” Shah said.

The strategy comes as businesses across Africa, the Middle East and Asia increase spending on AI, data centers, cloud services and enterprise software to remain competitive in a digital-first economy.

Nairobi firm expands beyond Africa

Founded by Mitesh Shah and  Jagat Shah  in Nairobi in 1996, Mitsumi Distribution has grown into one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest technology distributors. The company serves as a bridge between global technology manufacturers and thousands of local dealers, resellers and enterprise customers.

Today, Mitsumi operates in more than 30 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Its portfolio includes over 40 global technology brands, including HP, Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo, Samsung, Canon and Acer.

With expansion into India, Iraq and Morocco, Mitsumi is strengthening its position as a key technology distribution platform linking global innovation with high-growth emerging markets, while capitalizing on surging demand for AI infrastructure, digital transformation and enterprise technology solutions.
