MTN Nigeria and Digifon have launched a partnership aimed at widening access to consumer technology accessories across Africa’s largest telecom market, bringing a range of audio devices and portable power solutions onto MTN’s e-shop platform.

The collaboration reflects a growing focus among telecom operators in Nigeria on expanding beyond connectivity services into broader digital lifestyle offerings. With smartphone use rising and more Nigerians working remotely or building online businesses, demand for affordable and reliable accessories continues to grow.

The partnership was unveiled at an activation event at MTN Plaza in Ikoyi, Lagos, where both companies showcased products to media, business leaders and technology stakeholders. The event highlighted how distribution partnerships are becoming a key channel for reaching mass-market consumers.

Under the agreement, Digifon products will now be sold through MTN Nigeria’s digital retail platform, giving customers access to wearable audio devices and power solutions designed for everyday use.

Expanding access to smart devices

Digifon introduced its Stonebuds and Oyster Earbuds, open wearable audio devices designed to deliver sound while keeping users aware of their surroundings. The company said the products were developed with local usage patterns in mind, particularly for commuters and professionals who move between work and public spaces.

The company also showcased its Gorilla Mini Vault series of power banks, built to support smartphones, tablets and laptops. A live demonstration of the Mini Vault XE Pro powering a laptop drew attention to its capacity to handle higher-demand devices in a market where access to stable power remains a challenge.

Availability and market plans

MTN Nigeria said the partnership supports its effort to build a broader digital ecosystem that combines connectivity with access to practical technology products. The company added that improving access to trusted devices can support small businesses, freelancers and digital creators across the country.

Digifon confirmed that its products are now available on the MTN e-shop, with plans to extend distribution to MTN retail stores nationwide. The expansion is expected to increase product visibility and make consumer tech accessories more accessible to a wider base of customers in Nigeria.
