TITAN Egypt has invested €10 million ($11.4 million) in two new export silos at its Alexandria cement plant, marking a strategic expansion aimed at accelerating Egyptian cement exports and deepening the country’s role in global construction supply chains.

The project coincides with the company’s first shipment of 38,000 tons of Type I/II cement to the United States in May 2026, opening a new chapter for Egyptian industrial exports and positioning TITAN Egypt among the region’s emerging export leaders.

Egypt strengthens industrial export ambitions

The investment aligns with Egypt’s broader strategy to increase industrial exports and establish itself as a regional manufacturing and logistics hub connecting Africa, Europe and North America.

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid said the government remains committed to improving the investment climate and supporting manufacturers seeking access to international markets.

He noted that compliance with sustainability regulations, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), will be essential for maintaining export competitiveness and attracting long-term industrial investment.

Industry leaders highlight global opportunity

Amr Reda, Chief Executive Officer of TITAN Egypt, said the expansion demonstrates how Egyptian manufacturing can compete internationally while creating long-term economic value.

According to Reda, the new export infrastructure will strengthen Egypt’s integration into global supply chains and showcase the capabilities of local industry on the world stage.

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem described the U.S. shipment and the commissioning of the silos as evidence that Egyptian manufacturers can meet the technical and quality standards required by major international markets.

Sustainability drives next growth phase

TITAN Egypt, part of Belgium-based TITAN Group, has operated in Egypt for more than two decades and supplies materials for some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects.

The company is simultaneously accelerating its sustainability agenda. Earlier this month, TITAN Egypt signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with SolarizEgypt to develop an 11.45-megawatt solar power plant for Misr Beni Suef Cement Company.

With plans to increase annual exports to 300,000 tons by the end of 2026 and raise export capacity to 1.3 million tons by 2028, the TITAN Egypt Export Silos project highlights Egypt’s growing influence in global building materials markets and its ambition to emerge as a leading industrial export hub in the Mediterranean region.
