SeamlessHR rebrands

Nigerian human resources software company SeamlessHR has changed its corporate identity to Seamless Technologies as it expands beyond workforce management into artificial intelligence, financial services and enterprise technology solutions.

The rebrand marks a major shift for the company, which started as an HR technology provider but is now building a broader platform aimed at helping businesses manage employees, payments, procurement and workplace operations across Africa.

The move comes more than a year after SeamlessHR raised a $9 million Series A extension round from the Gates Foundation and Helios Digital Ventures to support its expansion plans.

The company said the new structure will allow it to develop products that address challenges faced by businesses and workers, including access to financial services.

“ This evolution reflects a much bigger opportunity than HR technology alone,” Dr. Emmanuel Okeleji, CEO and co-founder of Seamless Technologies, said in a statement.

“As we looked at the challenges facing businesses and workers across Africa, it became clear that access to finance sits at the centre of economic participation and productivity.”

Expanding beyond human resources software

Under the new structure, Seamless Technologies will operate several business units, including SeamlessHR, its workforce management platform; Breeze, an embedded finance service offering payroll financing, earned wage access and other employee financial solutions; and SeamlessProcure, a procurement platform designed to help companies manage purchasing and supplier relationships.

The company is also introducing BWOP (Blue Collar Operations Platform), a product built for organisations managing frontline and shift workers.

The platform helps employers digitise attendance tracking, scheduling, employee communication and workforce records for workers outside traditional office settings.

AI becomes part of Seamless Technologies’ growth plans

Seamless Technologies is also launching Samira, an artificial intelligence platform designed to automate workplace tasks, provide business insights and improve how organisations interact with its products.

“The future belongs to platforms that connect people, work and financial services in a seamless way,” Deji Lana, chief technology officer and co-founder, said.

“Through financial solutions, artificial intelligence and our growing suite of products, we are building infrastructure that helps businesses operate more efficiently and enables workers to access more opportunities.”

The company’s move reflects a broader shift among African technology firms as they look beyond their original markets and develop wider business ecosystems.

Nigerian fintech company Paystack recently created The Stack Group, a holding structure that includes Paystack, its consumer payments product Zap, Paystack Microfinance Bank and TSG Labs.

Founded in 2018, Seamless Technologies serves more than 1,500 medium and large organisations across Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Kenya.

The company has raised more than $20 million from investors and provides digital tools for workforce management, payroll, procurement and employee financial services.

With its new corporate structure, Seamless Technologies aims to strengthen its position in Africa’s enterprise technology market while expanding into new areas where businesses are adopting AI, automation and digital financial solutions.
