Accor, a publicly traded world-leading hospitality group, has signed an agreement with Trust Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company to develop ibis North Coast Sidi Kerir, a 200-room hotel scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2029, as both firms deepen their footprint in Egypt’s fast-growing coastal tourism market.

The project aligns with broader efforts to transform Egypt’s North Coast into a year-round destination, while reinforcing Accor’s expansion strategy across Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa region.

Located in the seafront area of Sidi Kerir, approximately 40 minutes west of Alexandria, the hotel will benefit from strong connectivity, including access to the Alexandria–Marsa Matrouh International Coastal Road and Borg El Arab International Airport.

North Coast investment momentum builds

The development comes amid rising investment and international interest in Egypt’s North Coast, driven by large-scale projects in destinations such as Ras El Hekma, Marassi, and New Alamein.

Accor said the ibis brand will introduce affordable, internationally recognized hospitality standards to one of the country’s fastest-growing tourism corridors, targeting a segment that remains underserved compared to luxury developments.

Raki Phillips, Regional President for Premium, Midscale and Economy Division, Middle East, Africa and Türkiye at Accor, said the North Coast presents a compelling long-term opportunity as infrastructure and mixed-use developments continue to reshape demand across leisure, residential, and corporate segments.

He noted that the ibis North Coast Sidi Kerir project will deliver reliable economy hospitality while strengthening Accor’s diversified expansion strategy in Egypt, reflecting confidence in the country’s long-term tourism outlook and Vision 2030 agenda.

Strategic partnership targets year-round destination

Samir Fawzi, Chairman of Trust Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company, said the partnership reflects a strategic shift toward broader market opportunities beyond luxury developments.

According to Fawzi, the seafront project is positioned between Alexandria and emerging mega-developments along the North Coast, enabling the creation of a mixed-use environment that caters to families, local communities, and visitors throughout the year.

He added that the collaboration with Accor will bring international standards, operational expertise, and global distribution capabilities to a rapidly expanding destination, supporting the region’s transition into a more inclusive and diversified tourism hub.
