Days after hosting Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, aboard his Bombardier Global 8000, Nigeria’s second-richest person, Abdul Samad Rabiu, is spending time with friends, family members, and business associates aboard his superyacht, The Raniya, in Monaco.

Rabiu, the founder and chairman of BUA Group, shared a photograph from Monaco on his official Instagram account with the caption, “Just a good day.” The post offered a glimpse of the billionaire’s time aboard the yacht, where he has been holding personal and business meetings.

Rabiu combines meetings with Monaco visit

Rabiu, whose net worth stands at $15.3 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, has built BUA Group into one of Nigeria’s largest industrial companies, with interests spanning cement, food, manufacturing and infrastructure.

His time in Monaco comes shortly after Dangote joined him aboard the Global 8000, which Rabiu took delivery of in June. The aircraft, made by Bombardier, is the latest addition to his private aviation fleet and has a range that allows it to fly long international routes without a stop.

The new jet joins Rabiu’s existing aircraft, including a Challenger 350 and Global 6500. The fleet gives him greater flexibility as he travels between Africa, Europe and the Middle East for business and other commitments.

Baglietto builds Rabiu’s 60-meter yacht

Rabiu has also been expanding his collection of luxury assets at sea. In February, he shared details of a new 60-meter superyacht being built by Italian shipbuilder Baglietto. “60 meters in the making. Thanks, Fabio and James. #ASR,” Rabiu wrote at the time.

The yacht is being built by Baglietto, the La Spezia-based shipbuilder founded in 1854 and known for constructing custom yachts. Once completed, the 60-meter vessel will add to Rabiu’s collection of high-value assets.

For Rabiu, the latest trip to Monaco follows a period that has combined major business commitments with personal travel, giving a rare public glimpse into the private life of one of Nigeria’s wealthiest businessmen.
