Zhejiang Jasan Holding Group Co., Ltd. (Jasan Group), a major global, publicly traded Chinese manufacturer, has started construction on a $117 million textile and apparel complex in Egypt, adding to the country’s push to attract manufacturing investment and build an export-oriented industrial base.

The project, located in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, will cover 300,000 square meters and will be financed entirely by Jasan Group. Construction and development will take place in three phases.

Jasan builds integrated textile operations

The complex will bring several stages of textile production under one roof, including spinning and weaving, ready-made and sportswear, seamless apparel, accessories, rubber fabrics, and dyeing.

The investment gives Jasan Group a manufacturing base in Egypt at a time when the country is seeking to expand its industrial capacity and attract companies serving international markets.

Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, said the project marks another step in developing Qantara West as a specialized center for spinning, weaving and garment production.

Gamal El-Dien said SCZONE contracted 117 industrial projects during fiscal 2025-2026, representing nearly $7.26 billion in investment.

SCZONE expands manufacturing base

The Suez Canal Economic Zone is a major trade and logistics center stretching across more than 455 square kilometers along the Suez Canal. Established in 2015, it includes four industrial zones and six seaports.

SCZONE offers investors tax incentives, simplified customs procedures and access to major international shipping routes, making it a key part of Egypt’s strategy to attract export-focused manufacturing.

The Qantara West zone currently hosts 54 projects backed by investors from nine nationalities. The projects represent about $1.54 billion in combined investment, cover 3.57 million square meters and are expected to create nearly 68,915 direct jobs.

Jasan Group targets global apparel demand

Zhejiang Jasan Holding Group Co. Ltd., known as Jasan Group, is a publicly traded Chinese A-share company founded in 1994 and headquartered in Hangzhou.

The company is a major manufacturer of hosiery and seamless sportswear and provides original equipment manufacturing and original design manufacturing services to global brands including Uniqlo, Puma, Decathlon and Adidas.

Jasan also produces auxiliary materials such as spandex-covered yarn and provides dyeing and printing services for raw materials and finished products. The Egypt project expands that manufacturing footprint while giving Jasan access to the country’s industrial infrastructure, shipping routes and regional markets.
