Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zimbabwe, a business of Cassava Technologies, owned by Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa, has launched a new suite of digital services targeting small and medium-sized enterprises as businesses seek to improve productivity and operating efficiency.

The SME Bundles, available in Basic and Standard packages, combine fiber connectivity, Microsoft 365 applications, cloud backup and Liquid POS under a monthly subscription.

The offering gives Zimbabwean businesses access to enterprise-grade technology without the upfront costs of deploying multiple digital services separately. SMEs can also upgrade between packages as their requirements change.

Liquid POS puts compliance at the center

A key component is Liquid POS, a cloud-based fiscalization platform integrated into the SME bundles. The system is designed to automate invoicing and reporting, update inventory in real time and maintain financial records.

By combining fiscalization, connectivity, cloud backup and productivity tools, Liquid is positioning the service as a single technology platform for businesses that would otherwise need to manage multiple vendors and systems.

The company said the approach can reduce manual processes while helping SMEs meet regulatory requirements and improve day-to-day operations.

“SMEs account for more than 60% of Zimbabwe’s GDP, over 70% of national employment and have an enormous potential to drive innovation and economic growth,” Lorreta Songola, vice president and chief executive officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zimbabwe, said.

She said the bundles are intended to help businesses remain compliant, improve productivity and become more resilient and competitive.

Cassava expands Liquid’s digital infrastructure

Liquid Intelligent Technologies operates under Cassava Technologies, whose digital infrastructure businesses span more than 40 markets across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Masiyiwa, whose fortune Forbes estimates at about $2.1 billion, has continued to invest in digital infrastructure as a way to address Africa’s connectivity gap and support economic growth.

The Zimbabwe SME launch adds to Liquid’s broader connectivity strategy. The company recently expanded its collaboration with Taara, the wireless optical communications company spun out of Google’s X Moonshot Factory, to strengthen enterprise internet connectivity in Nigeria.

For Liquid, the Zimbabwe rollout reflects a broader push to package connectivity, cloud computing, business software and digital payments into services that smaller companies can adopt without major upfront technology investments.
