Sun Limited, the Mauritius-based hospitality group, reported a solid rise in profitability for the first quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, supported by higher hotel revenue, robust room yields, and disciplined cost control. The resilient performance came despite lower occupancy and ongoing renovation works at its Ambre Resort, underscoring strong underlying demand for its properties.

Hotel operations anchor revenue; room yields expand

Segment net profit after tax from hotel operations climbed to MUR263.77 million ($5.57 million) from MUR198.01 million ($4.19 million). By contrast, real estate recorded no revenue during the period compared with MUR293.19 million in the prior year, generating a modest net profit of MUR1.85 million against MUR38.86 million.

Operations in Mauritius generated MUR1.49 billion ($31.43 million) in revenue, compared with MUR1.65 billion ($34.86 million) in 2025, while other operations contributed MUR25.36 million versus MUR24.9 million. The performance mirrored broader momentum in the island’s tourism sector, where tourist arrivals increased by 7 percent year-on-year to 373,770, led by key European source markets including France, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
