  • His recent single “Awuke” with YG Marley has hit millions of views and streams, boosting his global reach.
  • Davido’s Timeless album, a top African-streamed project in 2023, continues to solidify his position as an Afrobeats icon worldwide.

Afrobeats superstar Davido, riding high on the success of his fourth studio album Timeless and his recent hit single “Awuke,” is setting his sights on filling the 16,888-seat State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Nov. 21.

Atlanta concert, another milestone for Davido

The Grammy-nominated artist’s popularity has surged globally, making him a central figure in the Afrobeats genre’s rise on the world stage.

The Atlanta show marks another milestone for Davido, who has amassed a loyal international fanbase and recently performed to a packed house at the Accor Arena in Paris.

His performance featured a collaboration with YG Marley, grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley, on the track “Awuke,” which has garnered 2.9 million views on YouTube and 7.8 million Spotify plays.

After his Paris show, Davido expressed gratitude to fans, saying, “PARIS the energy was crazy as always! Big shoutout to @ygmarley & @mslaurynhill loved sharing the stage with you 🔥 YOU READY FOR AWUKE?!”

Davido’s U.S. influence gains momentum

The upcoming Atlanta concert reflects Davido’s expanding influence in the U.S., a market he continues to penetrate following his collaboration with American megastar Chris Brown.

Their joint track, “Sensational,” released via CBE/RCA Records in October 2023, quickly gained traction, hitting No. 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 3 with 15.7 million radio airplay impressions and 2.6 million U.S. streams in a single tracking week.

Timeless sets Davido’s global standard

Davido has proven to be a consistent chart-topper since Timeless was released on March 31, 2023. The album dominated African streaming platforms and became the most-streamed African album globally in 2023, cementing his position at the forefront of Afrobeats.

The project also fueled his rise in digital influence, with his YouTube channel reaching 4.17 million subscribers and his Spotify presence expanding to over 7.8 million monthly listeners.

His appearances on international platforms, including Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena, have further solidified his reputation as a global music sensation.

Davido brings Afrobeats to world stage

Beyond his personal accolades, Davido’s role in representing African music on the world stage is significant. His single “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” chosen by FIFA as a lead soundtrack for the 2022 World Cup, underscored his international appeal.

With a massive streaming audience of over 2 billion plays and successful appearances across continents, Davido’s influence is reshaping perceptions of African music.

Looking ahead, Davido has already announced plans to perform at Amsterdam’s 17,000-seat Ziggo Dome on Nov. 30, reflecting his ambition to conquer European venues.

With a track record of sold-out concerts and a string of hits that resonate with audiences worldwide, the artist remains a potent symbol of Afrobeats’ enduring appeal and its breakthrough into mainstream markets.
