Brahman Hills has unveiled 5-star Premium Signature Villas as it presses ahead with construction of Serenity Gardens, a 22-hectare development that will feature a world-record labyrinth and a series of immersive garden experiences.

The hospitality estate said the twin projects mark its latest investment in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, aimed at strengthening its appeal to high-end leisure travelers seeking privacy and nature-based stays.

Estate upgrades four villas

Four of the estate’s villas — Oribi, Duiker, Eland and Wildebeest — are undergoing extensive refurbishments. The upgrades are designed to lift finishes, enhance comfort and introduce more tailored service, while preserving the natural setting that has become central to the property’s identity.

Orrin Cottle, chief executive of Brahman Hills, said the villas reflect the estate’s long-term focus on thoughtful hospitality rather than excess.

“At Brahman Hills, we are deliberate about how we define luxury,” Cottle said. “For us, it is about care, detail and creating spaces where guests can truly rest. These villas are being shaped as private sanctuaries, with natural materials, considered design and a sense of calm that allows people to slow down.”

Each villa will feature expansive interiors, upgraded finishes and wide views across the surrounding landscape. The design draws on open-plan living to connect indoor and outdoor spaces, a feature the estate says remains a priority as it expands.

Premium villas add butler, chef, spa

The Premium Signature Villas will sit at the top end of the estate’s accommodation portfolio. Guests will have access to a range of included and optional experiences tailored to individual preferences.

These may include dedicated butler service, private chef dining by arrangement, daily breakfast with specialty coffees and fresh juices, curated welcome gifts and a complimentary bottle of Moët.

Selected beer, cider and soft drinks will also be available, alongside a spa experience for each couple and exclusive access to Serenity Gardens once completed.

5-star classic room

Cottle said the broader goal is to support tourism in the region. “If we raise our standards, the region benefits,” he said. “Our guests expect a world-class stay, but they also want authenticity and a connection to place. That is what we are building here.”

Construction of Serenity Gardens is ongoing, with the estate positioning the combined developments as a long-term investment in the Midlands’ tourism offering.
