La Réserve Seychelles has opened its first property in the Indian Ocean, introducing six private villas on Praslin Island as demand for exclusive, experience-led travel reshapes the luxury hospitality market. Set across a four-hectare estate between tropical forest and the ocean, the property combines expansive residences, private pools and dedicated staff with direct beach access.

The opening expands the luxury hospitality portfolio of businessman Michel Reybier, offering an alternative to conventional island resorts for families, multigenerational travelers and groups seeking space without sacrificing hotel services. Each villa is designed to function as a private residence, giving guests greater control over dining, leisure and daily routines while maintaining access to personalized hospitality.

Inside the six villas

Designed by Valérie Garcia and Kristian Gavoille, the six residences draw on Praslin’s landscape and architectural character. Pink granite, natural wood and locally crafted pieces feature throughout the interiors, while tropical gardens connect indoor living areas with the surrounding environment. The design emphasizes privacy and a close relationship with the island’s natural setting.

Each villa measures between 695 and 880 square meters and contains four to six bedrooms, a private swimming pool and direct beach access. The generous floor plans accommodate families and larger groups, allowing guests to gather for meals and social occasions while retaining separate spaces for relaxation.

Praslin’s position in the Seychelles archipelago also gives guests access to nearby islands, including La Digue, Cousin and Curieuse. The surrounding beaches, tropical vegetation and coastal waters provide opportunities for excursions beyond the property, while the villas offer a secluded base for returning guests.

Hotel service, private living

Personalized service is central to the property’s offering. Every villa comes with a dedicated housekeeper, private chef and maître de maison, allowing guests to arrange their stay around individual preferences. Services range from family breakfasts and private dinners to tailored daily schedules, reducing the need to follow the routines of a traditional resort.

The approach caters to travelers who prioritize discretion, flexibility and time together over shared hotel facilities. Guests can spend their days within their residences or explore the island, with staff available to coordinate the experience according to their preferences.

Dining follows the same model. Private chefs prepare meals in the villas, while Moutya, the property’s beachfront restaurant, serves fresh catches of the day in a relaxed setting overlooking the Indian Ocean. The combination gives guests a choice between private dining and a more social restaurant experience.

Exploring Praslin beyond the villa

The property’s Boat House provides kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling equipment for exploring the surrounding waters. Guests can also arrange outings across Praslin and neighboring islands, balancing outdoor activities with time spent on the beach or beside their private pools.

Wellness services extend the focus on personalized experiences. Drawing on the expertise of Switzerland’s Clinique Nescens, La Réserve Seychelles offers treatments on request within individual villas, with an emphasis on sleep, nutrition and regeneration. The arrangement allows guests to incorporate wellness into their stay without leaving the privacy of their accommodation.

Michel Reybier expands his reach

The opening marks a new chapter for Reybier’s luxury hospitality vision, bringing La Réserve to the Indian Ocean with a property built around privacy, space and tailored service. Its limited inventory of six villas distinguishes it from larger resorts, where accommodation and guest experiences typically revolve around shared facilities.

For the Seychelles, the property adds another option in the high-end travel market, targeting visitors seeking spacious private accommodation and personalized service. Its appeal rests on combining the natural setting of Praslin with residential-style comfort, giving families and groups an alternative to conventional luxury hotel stays.
