Capricorn Group Limited, the Windhoek-based financial services holding company, has announced the resignation of its independent non-executive director, Elizabeth Fahl, effective July 1, 2026.

Her departure marks the end of nearly 5 years on the board of the Namibian-listed group, where she contributed to governance oversight and human capital strategy.

Board exit concludes 2021 appointment
The company disclosed the development in accordance with the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) listing requirements, with the board expressing appreciation for her “invaluable contributions” during her tenure.

Fahl was appointed to the Capricorn Group board in September 2021, with her role taking effect on September 16, 2021. During her time as an independent non-executive director, she participated in board and committee activities, bringing extensive experience in human resources and organizational development to the group’s governance framework.

A career spanning banking, healthcare, and consulting
Fahl, 65, is a seasoned human resources professional with over 38 years of experience. She currently serves as Principal Officer of Bankmed Namibia, a role she has held since 1997, overseeing governance and administration within the healthcare funding space.

Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Standard Bank Namibia, where she served as Head of Human Resources and as a member of the executive committee, gaining experience in large-scale banking operations and strategic workforce management.

She later joined the Capricorn Group ecosystem in an executive capacity, holding roles such as Group HR Advisor and Executive Officer: Group Human Resources, where she led people strategy across the organization. In 2016, she transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding Flexona Organisational Services, a people-centric advisory firm focused on human capital development and organizational effectiveness.

Governance experience and board contribution
Fahl’s appointment to the Capricorn board in 2021 reflected her blend of internal institutional knowledge and independent oversight capability.

Her expertise in human capital strategy, leadership development, and organizational design contributed to board-level discussions around talent, culture, and long-term sustainability.

She also holds certifications in Human Resources Management and has completed a Management Development Programme, reinforcing her professional grounding in leadership and governance.

End of tenure for a long-serving HR leader
Her resignation brings to a close a career chapter that spans executive leadership, advisory work, and board governance within Namibia’s financial and healthcare sectors.

While Capricorn Group did not outline immediate changes to board composition following her exit, her departure represents the loss of a director with deep experience in both the group’s internal structures and broader human capital strategy.

Fahl’s departure underscores an ongoing cycle of board renewal at Capricorn Group, as the financial services firm continues to balance continuity with refreshed oversight in a changing operating environment.
